It happens year after year with BU. Think back to when Trent was a senior. He was playing with one arm by the time the B10 and Big Dance came around. Tournament and season over.

How many years are we going to talk about "wow we are going to be 10 deep this year?" It NEVER comes to fruition. Minutes are piling up for KW and Tomi. That affects their defense, rebounding and foul shooting. I don't know; these two losses really put us in jeopardy of slipping a couple lines in seeding. And puts this season squarely in the category of "another wasted opportunity." Loads of talent, but it feels like we are not getting the most out of it (with maybe the exception of KW and Big Z???)

I hate that I am as pessimistic as I was Optimistic after the Northwestern game. So depressing.

I know we have two hurt, three with Ty, but how do we literally have nobody who could give us some breather minutes? The bench is there for a reason, and you can’t convince me that none of the other guys have any use.
4, with JJ, if you are looking for breather minutes

Jake's bonehead pass to the back court TO sure didn't help
And he's been playing really well besides that

Turn overs, Missed free throws, I can't believe that Blackwell wasn't called for a foul in Waglers face. I forget what they call that fouls. The refs let Blackwell manhandle Wagler. I hate what when on after the game with Fanta the announcer. I don't think Hummel liked it. You just don't do that for a visiting winning team. The refs missed many calls.

If you're on a message board and not actually at the game, I really don't want to hear what you have to say about the crowd. But that is my opinion.
Awful take. We’re talking about the students.

If you were to tell me we shoot 53% for 2’s and 45% from beyond the arc…. have a rebounding advantage of 3, I would guess we win by more than 10. Except the other two bad stats: 58% free throws and 13 turnovers. That is where we shot ourselves in the foot.
Wisc shot 43% from 3 and had just 4 turn overs. They shot well. Knew they would be a tough matchup.
Two games in row where a few things done better give us wins…. welcome to the f-ing game of basketball right😢

Yeah, I'm over this one faster than I thought I'd be. I don't care who you are, if you lose 40% of your starters.....it's a stretch to try and get angry. Have the write it off to being shorthanded. Hopefully, that won't be the case going forward.

I would like to know how injured Drej is. For him not to at least try to give it a go in lieu of the circumstances.....not sure what to think about that.

Two tight game losses in games we had. Brad doesn't seem to know how to stop the downhill slide at the end of games. Im very worried going forward.
He never has. He isn’t an in game tactical guy.

Not to ruin the usual vibe of a postgame board after a loss, but…

While this one hurts, for so many reasons (missed FTs, bad officiating, bad Mirk, etc) but mainly because we should have won in regulation…I still love this team. There is still a lot of basketball left, and the beauty of college basketball is that even if it seems our B10 regular season title hopes are dashed, crazy things happen (see the 21-22 season), and even if the regular season crown is lost via injuries, weird covid winning percentage rules, or weird allegations, there’s a chance of redemption in the Big Ten Tourney (see 20-21 and 23-24 seasons)…and then there’s the NCAA Tourney. All that to say, this team has been playing a couple weeks without its senior leader and best defensive player. We didn’t have our dynamic wing tonight, who has become a solid defender and rebounder as well. I still really think this team has the talent and the character and a superstar Wagler to do great things. So while I am ok with being frustrated and disappointed in the result tonight, I am still 100% on board with this team being a legitimate force in the league and the in the NCAA Tournament. I’m all in, ride or die, and am going to enjoy every game, win or lose…because thats just how it goes. When Boz and Drej are back and healthy…I believe in great things. This team has shown us a lot, and even with certain flaws and limitations…helluva team to watch and root for.

So let’s go.

I-L-L!

Not sure who you guys wanted to play tonight. We have a VERY high level 8 man rotation. We are missing 2 starters. Get healthy, bring on the stretch run…everyone R E L A X. We’re gonna be fine. Win 5 of the next 6 or win out. Stay on the 2/3 line (really doesn’t matter which you get just avoid the 4 line).
All I'm going to say is if you can't beat Wisconsin at home who do you think you're going to beat during March madness? Ever since 05 I think everybody's been waiting for a comparable team and it seems like we start out really well but then we kind of peter out and I don't understand why. We seem to get really good recruits and there's no doubt we have good players but somehow there's always a disconnect. Like tonight with the free throws. I have to say that the Michigan State game was a real dagger.. and we should have won that game. And as far as the bench goes, how do you play unproven people against a very feisty Wisconsin team? It seems like teams come in just to hand Illinois their !!! at home. I really thought this team was going to compare to the '05 team or even be better.. now I'm not sure we will even get a three seed. And the next games are not guaranteed because well this one should have been. Now who knows about winning at home.. they're really great guys and they're really good players but I don't know what happens. I have watched them since the middle '80s and I'm a die-hard fan but it does get disheartening. Don't know whether to blame the players or blame the coach for not adjusting the game.. free throws are just basic basketball know-how.. so who knows. For the people that say get healthy and move forward, I agree with that.. but you have to admit the rest of the schedule and the Big ten tournament doesn't look as positive right now.

I’d bet most people on this board are alumuni that have moved away from CU. Going to the game isn’t an option.
Yes, indeed. We are 800 miles from Champaign so it’s a little hard to get back for games in the Assembly Hall. But when Illinois goes to Rutgers, we’re there. We were in Philadelphia for Penn State and we have tickets for Maryland. And we went back for two men’s games and a women’s game. And then there’s the season tickets for football.

It’s expensive to attend games when it takes five days to go to one. If anyone wants to contribute…should I start a go-fund-me?

Andrej has to be able to look himself in the eye in the mirror tomorrow morning and be honest. He left his brothers out dry.

#294
I get that but he didn't need to play heavy minutes tonight. We need his scoring, rebounding and just his overall body tonight to give others a break.

#296
We forget how much Andrej does. We were shorthanded and our guys looked tired. Down two starters at the guard position against a couple great guards Wisconsin had and we still almost won. I’m not worried about this squad competing against anyone when healthy.

We’re paying him almost $2M, I think we’re allowed to voice opinions (while also being understanding that hate for the sake of hate is not acceptable)

Oh I totally think we’re allowed to voice opinions … I am 100% in that camp … Especially when my hard earned money and I’m sure many others on here as well is going towards these guys pockets …
