Anybody complaining about AS not playing with a bad ankle needs to sit down. No way in hell he could defend with a bad wheel around all those screens and movement tonight. This is not a DP situation.
Yeah he aggravates it , goes out 4-6 weeks and misses the tournament & any title hopes we have are gone

Sucks he didn't play but we now see and appreciate his and KBs value likely a lot more as creators and our 2 best perimeter defenders.

People complaining about the orange krush, have you ever taken a look when they pan to the crowd. A lot of nerds in there.

When I was in Champaign, we never wanted to deal with fundraising to be a part of the Krush. I wasn't exactly at my charitable peak when I was a 20 year old college kid. However, I was in my loud and rowdy peak. Because we didn't want to deal with the fundraising, and the lottery system typically resulted in bad seats, we tended to watch at Legends or in our apartment, and we were quite vocal wherever we watched.

Get rid of the fundraising, have a pregame happy hour with cheap beer, and you will attract the crowd that is going to be loud and wild.
For what it's worth, there is no fundraising component to the Krush anymore. My daughter graduated last May, and spent many an hour over four years waiting in line, often in freezing temperatures, to get a seat on the floor. That's all it took (though there was an occasional promotion to let them skip the line; like attending a women's game). Unfortunately, we can't blame this one on the fundraising nerds.

Oddly enough, the success we’ve had without starters makes these results more frustrating lol

True lol

Just noticing we’ve had more than double the absences (12) of all other contenders COMBINED (5) puts the whole season in perspective for me… where would this team be with the health/luck of these 4 other teams at the top?

But then again I’m just coping here…

If you're on a message board and not actually at the game, I really don't want to hear what you have to say about the crowd. But that is my opinion.
The lifeless Orange Krush was front and center on the televised game that I watched. That is the only thing that truly irked me tonight. Why are they even there if they just going to stand around looking at their phones?

Lack of guard depth bit us in the butt here....need to address that off-season....too late now for Lee and Petro.

I get it now, I've seen the light. Petro and Lee.were misses.... not ready for this level....like Podz, DGL, Morez, Booth, Hansberry, Clark.

Jeez. Its not "missing", it's to do your job and "develop and improve". Gotta keep coaching. These are young men that still need to be coached and developed. Doesn't matter if what they are paid. Still work with them.

Going out there with a 6 man rotation after a tough OT loss at Breslin is unacceptable even with Andrej and Kylan unavailable. Heck, Wisky used 9 with their 9th getting 2 minutes....one more tha Lee! No one is asking Lee and Petro getting 10-15 minutes. Get them in to give the rotational guys a breather and limit their fouls. Case in point, before the under 8 media timeout they take out KW for a breather. Great, I get it. But they put in a rotation guy, and Wisky gets a 3 and Mirk turns it over. You don't think Lee could do better?

Puh-lease. BS.

6 man rotation doomed them
They were clearly gassed at the end. I saw guys sitting on the bench - in uniform - saw them warming up. WTH ?! If the bench guys are so bad they cannot spell the starters for a few minutes, what are they on the team for ???

BU always says "next man up". Really ? Don't see it.

Get healthy, win a B1G tournament game or two to help with seeding, make a deep tournament run, could care less about the B1G regular season given how imbalanced the schedules are.

And I am SICK and TIRED of having ZERO home court advantage …

To every single person in the Orange Krush tonight … You should be EMBARRASSED !!!!!!!

Absolutely pathetic !!!!!!!!
I've been beating this drum for years. The Orange Krush is absolutely terrible.

Go back and watch the final two minutes of OT. Down 6. That's when the players need you the most. They're totally silent. One person in the front row is jumping. The rest are doing jack s***. Terrible. I hate them so much.

Well we are so you'll just have to deal with it. He could've at least try to give it a go tonight. Just being out there on the court would have helped. This is a game where you just needed bodies at 50%, 75% whatever. So you sit down

We actually rebounded them 38-35. FT’s were the difference in this game . . . and the fact that we couldn’t stop a f***in fruit fly from scoring

That’s like voting for Cy Young based on which pitcher had the most wins.

You’ve got to look at the rebounding rates, they had 14 offensive rebounds to our 30 defensive rebounds (32%). We had 8 offensive rebounds to their 21 defensive rebounds (28%). We typically win that margin.

Honestly our good shooting from the field is the only thing that kept us in the game. They won “the math problem” all night.

16 more field goal attempts (+32)
3 more attempts from 3 (+3)
We had 5 more FTA (that we couldn’t capitalize on) (-5)

Both teams make all their shots and Badgers win by 30. Nobody ever makes them all, but the fact this game was close and were up big in the second half is a testament to how good we are on offense.

I've gotta say, the number of fans asking for Petro to not be on the bench is sorta crazy. It'd be like in 2005 people begging Weber to play Nick Smith 20 minutes a game. Difference is, hilariously enough, Nick Smith actually had better metrics than Petro does currently.

I hate continuously bringing this up but:

Team without Petro:
Offense: 1.29ppp (85ppg)
Defense: 1.04ppp (68ppg)

Team with Petro contributing
Offense: 0.89ppp (59ppg)
Defense: 1.08ppp (72ppg)

In raw, he's currently considered in the bottom 5% of ALL NCAA players. There's a very big reason he's on the bench and not coming to save us.
So, somehow in his average of just over 6 minutes a game, this is all Petro’s fault that the team offense and defensive stats show what you’ve provided?

Other than a few games, Petro has played with mostly other guys who haven’t averaged as many minutes as he has, so the lineups weren’t conducive to high level or quality play.

Let’s not act like he has dragged the team’s performance down in significant play.

Most of his PT came against UTRGV, Southern and garbage time in other games.

In significant play this what Petro has done.

Alabama - 1st game - 12 minutes 3 points (1-1 3pointer), 1 reb, 1 assist, 1 to

UConn , 18 min 1-7 FG, 2 reb, 2 assist, 3 steals, 3 TO - not great, but most of our guys looked poorly most of that game.

Minnesota - 7 min, 2-4 fg, 4 pts, 3 rebounds

The numbers you posted aren’t great, but there is context to them.

12 games missed this season by starters...

Probably amazing we were even contending for a B1G title in the first place considering:

Michigan: 0 games missed by starters
Michigan State: 1 game missed by starter (Ugochukwu in their last game)
Nebraska: 2 games missed by starters
Purdue: 2 games missed by starters
Illinois: 12 games missed by starters
thanks for doing the work to come up with this. been a really tough year for injuries to major contributors between football and basketball
