We are broken beyond repair.

Most disappointing season since...?
This one is worse than 2023 by far. We were all optimistic about TSJ coming back, and that team had way more “drama” with Epps, Clark, etc. to deal with. This team just plays dumb, casual basketball and is wasting infinitely more talent.

It’s one thing for players to be delusional enough to think they’ll eventually just start shooting their ways to wins every night even though there’s zero evidence this will ever happen … it’s another for a staff to feed this belief. Until Brad Underwood accepts that this team needs an organized offense that revolves around driving to the hoop and shooting threes sparingly, what hope can there realistically be? And I honestly think he’d rather die than admit that he was wrong on this, lol.

A walk in the park for Wisconsin. I know we are banged up, but it was men among boys!

What changes need to happen? I think we have good players but we are young, hurt and sick, and suck unless we get well abs wake up

I’d like to stay old at the PG position with an EDG dawg-mentality player. Someone home Illini grown. Not one and dones or transfer retreads who aren’t invested in Illinois. Think of guys like Trent Frazier. Probably never have that again. Smh

I would have been just as happy, and maybe even more happy with......

Boswell
DGL
Sencire
Dain
Coleman
Ty
Amani
Morez
Maybe Jake and Tre

Heavy defensive focus. Would have been fun to watch.
But how well could they throw up a bunch of 3s each game??

Combination of not having the gene to put teams away and Brad's stubbornness of not completely pivoting from the result of the Ohio State win.

I hate to say it, but we are reaching DEFCON-Matthew Mayer Monster Energy, Season. Body language is gross. Schemes are non-existent. Yeah, guys have been sick and hurt. Whatever. Hey Brad, take a page out of Shauna Green’s playbook: “no one gives a s*** we’ve been hurt, etc.” Our one guy giving consistent effort broke his wrist, and the team responds by laying a collective egg. Get some guys back and rebuild for next year. This season has been a Brad Underwood fart noise.

The injury and sickness excuse can only go so far.

This team is way too loose with the ball, struggles with position on defense for rebounding, plays terrible defense for large stretches, and the offensive identity is non-existent (outside of clunking 3's and turning the ball over).

The effort is there at times, but the gameplan and positioning is downright terrible right now. This team is largely dependent on KJ, and he has been off since he got injured in Washington.

Unless something changes, the Illini might just lose out (even Iowa is not a gimme). Just a frustrating season all around, with the sicknesses and injuries, and generally underwhelming gameplanning.

“Get old stay old”

Goes into the year with one of the youngest teams in NCAA

I’m over the 5 star freshmen experience unless they agree to stay atleast 2 years.

I’d be fine with one 5 star freshmen but you have to surround him with an old veteran team.

Inject KJ or Will into last years team for extended minutes and you have something special. This year is completely reliant on freshmen and it’s a dumpster fire

The beginning of the end of the Underturd era, we just did not know it then?

First game in 2 seasons I didn't make an effort to watch. I watched bravo with the wife instead.

I'm not sure what to do on Saturday. Just 3 weeks ago I was looking to make a vacation to NYC centered around that game.

Shout out to DGL for a helluva an effort tonight. A travesty he didn’t see the floor until nearly halfway through the first half.

I really hope he sticks around and becomes a Trent Frazier type guy for this team for 2 more years.
