Was that the coaching staff or players?

Underwood and staff tried to go the Calipari route with the roster this year when we have about 10 years of results showing that it does not work out well.
Well, not exactly…it seems like he was trying to hedge his bets, a little by bringing in Kylan, and Ben and Tre…who had some decent college minutes…BUT ultimately they were a mixed bag and had certain deficiencies.
He thought he’d supplement the Eastern Block guys with dudes who had college experience…at different times tho. It did seem like the fresh start for these guys was working out…then dysfunction started rearing its ugly head….again.

Yes…a bewildering assortment of injuries and sickness…yes they’re young and inexperienced…but let’s be honest-not THAT young and inexperienced.
To blame all the failings of this team on youth is a bit much.

The plan we were told was a 2 year plan…so we could build for next year…and now here we are again…another needed overhaul apparently…

Agree but we need KJ to win...not sure we NEED Ben to win. He can help but his presence certainly is not making or breaking games.

Hard to say when the general public often uses the two terms interchangeably. Influenza can cause nausea and vomiting as well, but it's more common in kids and adolescents. A bunch of 18 and 19 year olds may still count.

Norovirus is also very contagious but only lasts for like 1 to 2 days, usually.
It makes way more sense if it's norovirus. I mean, Jake Davis was OK enough to start but then he's puking his guts out at halftime. That's how norovirus works. You're fine until it his you, but then it hits you all of a sudden like a ton of bricks, you have an awful 24-48 hours, then you're pretty much fine again.

KJ has no one to blame but himself right now, his play has been overall most pathetic recently.
Kylan's struggles make some sense to me- he's playing really tentative and hesitant out there because he just doesn't trust himself then seems to force things to make up for passing up the open shots he should be taking. KJ I just don't really understand what's going on there other than he's both not feeling right physically and hitting a freshman wall headfirst. I mean stuff like this does happen often to freshman typically once they play against high major competition in conference, but I don't think I've ever seen a falloff this dramatic for a player midway through conference play. It's almost like he's so deep within his own head right now he can barely see the players on the court.

Brad is slowly turning into Cal ... I am starting to see it more and more ...

Devin Booker came off the bench for Kentucky. We started Jake Davis tonight.

The reason Brad is driving me nuts is there is there is a big difference between adapting as a coach and deciding you want to do something totally different every season.

We had one returner this year, if we have only a couple again eventually your voice runs thin. How do you expect kids to buy into the program when the guy who runs the program doesn't buy into you?

Feel really bad for DGL he is exactly what Brad has asked of his players and if I'm confused on what he's looking for in a guy I cant imagine how frustrating it is for him

I wonder what NBA talent evaluators will make of KJ, given the increasing number of poor performances. The turnovers are indescribably bad, many of them unforced. He was taken out a couple times tonight after those kinds of utterly careless turnovers, so that is a coaching improvement.

Underwood says that KJ is hard on himself, if anything too hard. That seems likely, but it also seems like there is something missing here: this talented and determined a player does not continue to make inexplicable errors at this rate.

I think NBA guys are going to need a convincing explanation, one that has yet to surface here at least.

Lots of coaching problems especially defensively. It sucks *** right now but the sun will come up. Every program is going to go through a stretch like this or a year like this at some point. I saw some really good individual things from DGL and Ben today, shout out to them. Tomi is deathly ill and he ain't the only one. KJ needs to be better, he was truly pathetic today. Just awful. Just gotta hope you win a couple and get healthy for the tourney. As far as next year goes: Morez, Tomi, Jake, Kylan, DGL are all guys I think they will work to retain. Feel good about the first four and we will see on the fifth. Ben will be depending on if he wants to take a lesser role. Remember these are college kids, and I am telling you guys this team has been ravaged behind the scenes will sickness
Thanks. Much needed info and OPTIMISM.

Back to the game, when we would cut the lead to 6 points did anyone think that maybe we would win?

KJ really is the problem. If he can’t carry the team we won’t win again. His game maybe made for the NBA, but it sure was not made for the NCAA the last month or so?

Before you get your pitchforks out for Brad and overreact to basically a scheduled loss, just remember that last year Wisconsin fans were calling for Greg Gard's head after he lost 4 in a row and then 8 out of 11 right around this time of the year and fans on this forum were also wondering how warm Gard seat was getting given he has done anything in March since his first two years. And yet this year he's one of top candidates for CoY in the league. Point is if you are not sure whether you are overreacting to a loss, you are.

i so excited for Boswell this year but he can’t shoot and he just gave up 31 points. Tonje made it look easy. Finally saw brad screaming at KB after he went under a Tonje 3 in the second half. He’s a solid player but he’s not worth the NIL we’re paying him

Yeah, it makes sense for Jake, but not the rest of the team who have allegedly been sick for 1.5 months.

That’s a great question… when AJ and Chucky both transferred I had wisky pegged as a door mat this season. Boy was I wrong

But then again, I didn’t know about headband guy 🤷🏼‍♂️

Sorry Indy I like you and DB but just not true at all. The entire team has been hurt or ill the last month and a half. Most of the guys are really close and love it here, there will be several returners. Guys will also leave. I have never in my life seen what has happened to this team illness wise happen to any sports team before. If some of you guys knew the behind the scenes it's just insane
This is why I’m biting my tongue with criticism. Everyone just looks one step behind. The end of the Sparty game the legs were gone.

I know it’s a cliché but they’re just kids and it’s just a game. If we’re frustrated, I can’t imagine how frustrated THEY must be.
