What streaming services do you use that are free?

Well, I know if you want to go illegal there are apps on Kodi that stream sports. But I assume those are not legal.

I can stream watch espn. I just can't remember if it my subscription to PSVue or my internet provider that is a cable company are where the password comes from.

If it comes between not seeing a game vs. paying $100/month to watch a game vs. finding a site streaming the game for free, I'm probably going to pick the free streaming site. I'm fairly certain Dan doesn't allow listing such sites, but if we're talking about sports and cable TV etc, it's a real thing that a lot of people do when they only want to watch sports for a few months out of the year.

Yes because I'm the reason your prices are astronomical and not the monopolies that Comcast/Time Warner and Disney/Viacom has on the cable market. :tsk::tsk: If you saw what I wrote, I buy Playstation Vue during basketball season/football. If there's a random game sprinkled here and there I'm not gonna go buy cable to watch it. If I didn't stream it, I'd just go to the bar next door. I'd rather pay $60 all year than $720. I don't need 5 billion extra channels just to get BTN and ESPN. Their system is old and outdated and instead of changing with the times they are burying in and staying hard in their ways. It's funny because they higher they charge/month, the more people cut the cord. The more people cut the cord, the higher they drive their prices.

Not to defend the cable/phone companies, but "Net Neutrality" is what keeps them charging the high prices. Thankfully the New FCC is going to fix that, and maybe introduce actual competition.

"Net Neutrality" is anything but neutral. It allows Netflix to pay 2-3% of the cost of the pipe but use 37% of the bandwidth. Streaming services account for 70% of the total bandwith but pay less than 10% of the overhead. That is anything but neutral.

Government has chosen one business model over another. The market value of Netflix is soley dependent on the rediculous subsidy they receive from "Net Neutrality". Want to make some money? Short their stock.

What was the quality like on PS vue? Also, I'm looking at the website and it says $44.99 for the package with BTN. Any tips on how to get it cheaper?

NOTE -- if no net neutrality... does this mean netflix (streaming entities) will have to pay more... and if so... I wonder where they will get the money... (from us...).

It depends on the area you live in I believe. Your zipcode probably gets local channels. Where I live, I do not, so I pay less. Kind of nice for me since I also have an antenna. Not so nice for you. And quality is really good, but I also have my PS4 wired straight up to my modem, so that helps a lot.

I think there is a common ground system where internet companies should be able to charge based off how much bandwidth you use, while still maintaining the ability to have a free internet. Net neutrality is important. What if Times Warner/Comcast cuts off their contract with BTN? Without net neutrality, they could also cut off your web access to BTN.com or any other website they don't like. They could throttle BTNtoGo's stream service as payback for a stalled contract dispute.

PS Vue is limited to 720p, so I'm guessing you aren't watching on a large screen. So - if anyone subscribes to HBO / Showtime, the 1080p signal will be downgraded. YouTube will have no such limitation, as they currently have the ability to provide 4K streams.

- My brother-in-law's Netflix
- Amazon Prime Video (no exactly free, but I pay for Prime for the music and shipping, so the video streaming feels like a freebie)
