Lets see if I can remember all this;

Ted Karras Sr went to Indiana !
Alex Karras (TKSr Bro) went to Iowa !
Lou Karras (another Bro) went to Purdue !
Ted Karras Jr went to Northwestern ! all were very good players - and now;
Ted Karras III is going to Illinois !

Great legacy here at 5 different Big Ten schools.

This class seems to be shaping up nicely so far. I love these new coaches they are whipping them in shape and don't take !!!!. They might seem like douche bags when someone doesn't do something right but they expect the most out of their players. I feel like our offense won't be a world changing offense but we'll put points up, oh and our running game will take pressure off of nathan. Our defense will be improved, if Corey has a big year he could be gone

If Karras has indeed committed, welcome! I like to see us get kids from quality backgrounds with great football lineages. After a slow start recruiting is picking up and I like the direction the new staff is taking with regards to it.

Obviously, he is on track to be a Rhodes Scholar.

Ya - if he studies at all and passes a few courses; he is automatically "a Rhodes Scholar". Hope he does well at Illinois !

If that 4.8 time in the 40 is accurate - it is impressive indeed for a big kid.

Didn't McCall try to commit to us early and we turned him away ?

Now he is a Spartan. Oh well - we'll get another good RB i believe.

No Bob, that was Kapri Bibbs who just committed to Colorado State.

Anyone know anything about Daniel Rhodes? Anyone from the NC area? He seems to have solid height/weight/speed. With recruiting a few TEs a priority this year, I have to trust the staff saw something good in Rhodes.

Yes the staff saw some good things with this kid !
They saw that he has good height, weight and speed !

Why not take a shot. We need a cpl of TE prospects.

Oh ya - Bibbs I think it is actually. I guess we really never offered him did we ?

Actually - before it is all over I think we will bring in one more RB that is a better prospect than Bibbs or McCall.

That is right, I have edited my previous post. I knew I had spelled his name incorrectly. I think he thought he had an offer which was no present or commitable.

Regarding Rhodes, per some posts on the Scout board it looks like he will be more of a blocking TE with good size and athleticism.

If Rhodes weighs 250 now (as reported) you can bet he will weigh about 280 by his Jr season at Illinois if he and the staff want him to. That sounds like he might move over a spot on the OL or be used all most exclusively for run plays - or sneak him out once in a while to catch a wide open 7 yard pass and then fall forward and smother a pesky opponent CB ! Ha !

Man that sucks...IMO the best back in the state. Hopefully he pulls a Jason Ford, but like I posted on the Illinois scout board, if Illinois gets Deion Walker I won't complain at all.

And as for Rhodes, watched some video...not only would he be a big asset blocking, but he moves well for a guy his size. With work in a S&C program, he will get bigger, but also more explosive. Good pickup IMO.

My philosophy is that you should recruit 3+ big TE every year, then move the guys who don't cut it at TE to the OL or DL.

What - no commits today ! What the he!! is going on here - this is BS and totally unacceptable. How does this program expect to even have enough players to fill the roster out . It's been hours since our last commit (and signing) and here we go again - no commits !

This coaching staff really has hit the bottom now. Hours have gone by I tell ya !

Three star defensive end, Robert Mincey (Fairfield, OH./ Fairfield Senior, currently has his list of schools narrowed down to five, but only two of those schools are really standing out to the 6′3″ 245 pound lineman.

“It’s going good,” said Mincey about his recruitment. ”I’ve taken out most of my MAC schools, but still have Kansas, Illinois, Marshall, Memphis and Toledo. “Illinois and Kansas are my top two,” Mincey added.

Did anyone else notice this? Anyone hear anything about Clint Tucker maybe not being 100% solid to UK?

The UI took another unranked player this week in 250-pound tight end Dan Rhodes of Charlotte. But he's not as much of a mystery as uncommitted defensive tackle Mason Fuller. Fuller, who scheduled an Illini visit this weekend, attends Urban Charter School, which is located on the top floor of Englewood High in Chicago. Zook is searching hard for defensive tackles, and is reported close on East St. Louis husky Clint Tucker, who earlier committed to Kentucky.
