Not sure he is a PG though or even a combo guard. I believe he played more SG/SF in HS and AAU. Probably comparable to Brandon Paul, but maybe not quite as athletic.

Not as athletic as Paul but has far better handles than Paul has or ever will have. He would fit well in the system.

If this is the case, I don't see the benefit to us. Bringing him on board ties up a scholarship for 4 years. There are probably better uses than another kid that can not provide an immediate impact. Even if he could play immediately, I would want to carefully weigh the use of that scholarship against using it for other potential recruits in the pipeline.

Why the interest in him then, especially if he's not a PG? If we land Hill and either Nunn or Brown or another 2G in 2013, we don't need RP.

I think Ron Patterson will be deciding today if he goes the prep school route (likely Brewster) or enrolls in a 4-year college. He doesn't have a lot of time to make a decision.

From reports, he is academically cleared to attend a 4 year school. Indiana just had some other stipulation that he didn't meat. Sounds to me like a cop-out to avoid oversigning. If he gets into Illinois its because he meets the qualifications. This is hardly a player or a situation that Groce would chance getting in any trouble over. I'd love to have a player that can D up as well as him on the roster.

A game where Patterson and D. Jackson went against each other. I think Patterson coming here might help land Jackson.

Could be an opportunity for immediate eligibility here, depending on the kid's specific facts @ IU. |

Wow!
I am not usually impressed with recruiting videos, but holy cow. This just got me way too excited. I can see this kid leaving early easily. The move at the 2:00 is jaw dropping. His shot is great, but I am more impressed with the way he takes it to the basket. He is always under control and finished at the hoop with great strength, yet his touch is fantastic. |

I, as well, was very impressed. Usually not to impressed because they are just highlights but you can't tell the speed was there, the strength was there and the form.... |
