I do find it somewhat humorous that these kids would have so much trouble making up their minds. I mean, if you want to avoid the pressure from the locals, etc., then why the heck make a big deal out of announcing? I think I understand the hype angle but if it doesn't make you happy to have all the stress then just announce and deflate the balloon. Announcing that you are going to announce in a week is pretty silly. Just announce and move on, don't see the kid getting anything positive from the buildup. His play on the court is the only thing that will get him accolades going forward so creating the drama seems odd.

Long time Illini fanatic, first time chatter...gotta say, this is the most excitement I have had for the Orange and Blue in several years. Win, lose or draw, the fun seems to be back in the House of Paign!

I see Alvin Ellis committed to Tubbs and Minny. Not sure if this was posted in the 334 pages prior. It's from Ilprep and excuse me for not wanting to post the link on this site.

Groce may be visiting him often. After all, we all remember what happened to the last highly touted recruit we got from Indiana. |

I really feel for DJ right now. My kids came via the foster care system so am pretty familiar with it. One of the coping mechanisms often employed is to figure out what others want to hear and tell them just that.
It's how they learned to survive and can be a core part of their personality. Even into adulthood. I just hope he makes a decision that's best for him. Whatever that may be. |

if it is UI, he had no change of heart at the end if it is ND, he had a change of heart at the end clever, kind of like the mind readers who play people for fools. please post again when you really have legitimate info. |

Why roll three deep to see a kid you're certain you have? This really is becoming a circus.

"Hoops - #NotreDame rolled three coaches deep tonight at Demetrius Jackson's open gym. Head coach Mike Brey included.
http://twitter.com/Jake_Brown" Sounds like they are nervous and pressing. |

We keep forgetting that when it's all said and done, this is just basketball. By all accounts, DJ seems like a classy kid and despite our desire to see our program re-ascend, we should also hope for people to make the decisions that are most comfortable for themselves and the people they care about the most. I even remember how gut-wrenching my law school decision was. I got into one top law school where my Sig O was also attending, and another top school closer to my family. I must have changed my mind every day for 3 months before finally deciding. So I totally empathize with what DJ's going through. Hope he picks the Illini, but certainly won't hold it against him if he decides ND is the best place for him and his family |
