I don't think whoever wins is Chicago's team, with that title hanging in the balance with each matchup. If it turns out that the teams treat it that way with songs and proclamations, make the hat trophy one of those mini-Sears tower souvenirs instead.

Illinois-13
NW-41

The coaching debacle continues as we still go for it on 4th and 1 out of the shotgun and run about a million read option plays. Not to mention we might try a north and south play 1 out of every 10 east and west plays.

SOC - Northwestern

I think Northwestern wins handily, and Fitzee celebrates a 9th win on my television, and there's nothing I can do about it. I'll just have to sit there and take it. Can we please just skip from Friday to Sunday?

Northwestern 34, Illinois 10

Anyone know what color jersey we are wearing today?
Which looks better with a brown paper bag over your head: an orange #9 or a blue #1?

True it is sad when we have gotten to the point where Illinois is hoping things go their way in order to beat the other bottom dwellers in the Bee-One-Gee.

You and I can identify the Illini tendencies. Think maybe opposing coaches have figured it out and know how to defend it? I'm doubting our coaching staffs creativity. They blew it all on that one fleaflicker that lead to a field goal.

Oh, you mean the way this offense is supposed to run? This offense is based on the read-option but it doesn't matter what it's based on when we can't get a 3-step drop without having a defender in our backfield.

And that north-south comment makes me think you listened a bit too much to Glen Mason last week.

It's not identifying tendencies when you point out the base-plays of an offense...sorry.

No bowl. No B1G wins. A disappointing season. Every ball has seemed to bounce the wrong way. New staff. Rough season all together. That's all behind us. It's a 1 week season. Lets play fast. Play smart. And play together. And let's BEAT NORTHWESTERN.

In all fairness Glen Mason has a Big Ten victory. Beckman might not get one til 2014.

The Illini's uniforms are a train wreck right now. With the new helmets, nothing seems to match quite right. Do we really need to wait till 2014 for the new unis?

Penaltys

Apparently were not getting enough. So, Beckman, chipped in for a couple! WOW!!!!!!
These players need a coach that can teach a little discipline and self control.
We can't compete, we can't even play fundamentle football. I'm Glad this is over. I,m embarassed for the University of Illinos!

Can't get chat all game, so I have to comment on the fact that Northwestern's second-string offense and fourth tailback were driving strongly on us, and then Fitz put in some 290-pound walk-on at tailback for two plays just to demonstrate further what a complete and utter joke we are.

We just gave up a safety.

Can't wait until this staff gets better players . . .
