How many games do you win when you shoot worse at the line than you do from three point land. Great win, but gotta get the free ones from the line...

Played well in spurts, and #JOETALES was huge down the stretch. Need to shore up FT shooting, TO's.
Loved seeing us go zone. Talk about changes. And for the better I might add. |

Abrams is a concern but when Paul and Bertrand get out and run, we look like a serious team.
The zone will probably help mitigate our awful post D against teams with capable bigs. Nice win. |

Are the post-game pressers broadcast over the air or on-line anywhere?

Great game... would have won by a lot more if we had made some FTs.

2nd half clamp down on defense plus Joseph Bertrand's 8-pt run = this win.
Finding new ways to do it.

GT can definitely play some defense. We had some really rough patches where the offense looked lost and we had multiple empty possessions. Thankfully we found a spark and the 3pt shots were falling. Joe B really swung the momentum in our favor and we held from there.
Lots of missed FT's that would have put us up by more much earlier, have to hit those. Hopefully the GT player isn't out long, but they just showed him getting carried out by teammates so at best probably looking at a high ankle sprain. 1, 2, & 3 carried the game again, with some help by TG. TA still in a slump but hopefully the 6 days gets us fresh again and lets us clean up the offense a bit |

Groce winning with Webers players. Weber won until January last year. January thru March will tell the tale, still good to see 75-80 points on a regular basis.

so happy we won...Coach Groce won this game with his changing to the 2-3 zone in the first and second half...our last coach had too much pride to play zone...now we flourish
Great win...great play by JoeBert, and BP3 GO ILLINI __________________ ![]() Bleeding Orange and Blue in Lubbock ![]() |

Oh and BTW, the refs sucked AGAIN tonight. I've never seen a team that gets less calls on their home floor than Illinois.

Although ugly at times, glad we got the W. For some reason I am just skeptical that we can keep this going though. Maybe I'm stuck in the Weber era, but I just don't have the full trust yet. A W vs gonzaga or mizzou would help that.

I like this team. A lot! Heck, we can even play some zone.

That said, he'll be a good player for us. And it's always nice to win a B1G/ACC game. We're now .500 all time in the Challenge! |

Great job by JoeTales. Need to do better from the free throw line, but I am very happy with the win.
Sorry to see the Georgia Tech senior get hurt. I wish him the best. |

And we would have won by a less if we hadn't been unreal from the arc. I'll take the trade off.

OK, GREAT win!! I'm NOT making this up: We're down 58-54 with a little more than 6 minutes to go and GT is inbounding the ball. I said to our dog, "Kacie, MOIST DOG FOOD if you can bring the Illini back for a win!" Seconds later, we stole the inbounds pass, went for a layup and now I'm going to fill up her food bowl!
