Can't wait!

Here's to hoping Freese works out at 3B! (I have my doubts though.)

My wife asked me to post: Albert homered in his first at bat at Cincinnatti per Gameday!

Pujols homers in his first at bat of the new season. Dan and Al put it nicely, "New year, same Albert!"

Ooh, Rasmus just robbed former Cardinal great Scott Rolen of his second homerun of the day. This is in addition to a HR.

Oh and Albert just added another HR, this one a 2-run shot. We really are lucky to have such a great player.

Edit: Don't have to worry about it today. Molina just hit a Grand Slam!

First Opening Day win since 2006! We all know what happened that year.

The bullpen looks like it may struggle, so hopefully we can keep putting up a bunch of runs so we don't have to worry about it, or some of the guys step up. Perhaps they can get a pass since it's Opening Day.

My wife is ecstatic! We both thought it interesting the final out was former Cardinal Scott Rolen.

Eakin scored and was +1 in his first AHL game -- and he is still 18 years old.

I caught a replay of the game last nite. Just about everyone got a hit except "The Shoeman" to use Shannon's name for him.

It is amazing that a team can score 11 runs when the first two batters (who are suppose to "set the table" for the 3-4-5 hitters) went a combined 1-9 plus a walk.

Did anyone see the game on Fox Midwest? They showed Albert telling Molina that Masset didn't have a breaking ball so sit on the fast ball and take it to right field?
Grand Slam. Does this kid know his baseball or what? Good job by the camera crew as well.

Yadi is only the 3rd Cardinal to hit a grand slam on opening day.

The other two hitters to swat Opening Day Grand Slams were also in attendance at Great American Ball Park:

Scott Rolen, Reds’ 3B, hit one in 2006 at Philly for Cardinals.

Mark McGwire, Cardinals hitting coach, hit one in 1998.
