Pitiful . . .
A loss to a second rate university with a second rate football team . . . that says volumes about us.
![]() That was fukin pitiful . . . . we don't deserve a bowl game, and I certainly won't attend if we do go . . nor will I watch __________________ I root for Illinois and ANYBODY who plays Michigan! |

Not sad to see this series end. The "we don't deserve a bowl" talk is bull though. Refs get that call right and we found a way to win a close game. This is the same team that dominated Penn State on the road and PU and IU at home. There's only one criteria for going bowling, 6 wins. We got 6 wins none of which were lucky, so we deserve a bowl, end of story.

Another close game. Another loss. Thank goodness the Texas Bowl wants us regardless.

I hope to hear "Zook fired from Illinois" by the beginning of next week. Let Petrino coach us in the bowl game and find a new HC, because this crew isn't going to do it.

Despite the two point spread, this wasn't even close. Painful to watch.

That is OK.
We suck only till the next game, when we pile 600 yds on someone. To the bowl and then next year. Decent season, could have been better. Far, Far better. but we have a 6-6 team. |

What is the point of the "experts" reviewing every play if they don't take a second look at that 4th down call. There is no reason that we should have had to use up a TO to challenge that play. It was so close and the spot so bad it should have been reviewed. Unbelievable. I don't care what happened at the beginning of the game. Two bogus calls by the officials screwed us at the end. We should have had the ball with PLENTY of time left.

What a joke....and anyone that says the refs cost us that game is delusional. Our secondary cost us that game. Our offensive line cost us that game. Waiting till the second quarter to decide to play cost us that game.

1. The players were not prepared to play.
2. After the Northwestern game, Eddie McGee should have never been allowed to take another snap as quarterback, ever. 3. That was a horrible spot. That was not even close to a first down. 4. Bonehead personal foul penalty on that last drive on third and long. |

Agree 100%. Not sure if it was the bye week that hurt us but we came out uninspired.

Those things only cost us the game because of the refs, and the refs only cost us the game because of those things. It's not all one or the other.

I'm betting the WAC. However, the refs didn't let the opponents scored 16 points in the 1st qtr. We were so one dimensional on offense, I'm astounded that we scored as many points as we did. And on defense . . . .well, let's just say the Special Olympics football Team can put up 50 on us through the air . . . we can't stop !!!! if the other team is throwing the ball.

? Does Jeff Allen average at least one jump per game? Nice timing from our "best offensive lineman."
? Do our DBs practice making boneheaded plays in key situations? Nice flagrant hit long after the ball was gone. ? Will Illinois ever recruit DBs capable of covering WRs? Once again, we give up huge chunks of yardage playing soft coverages. Sorry, but FSU is not that good and we once again screwed the pooch.

We came out weak, and our pass defense was horrific. Still, we put ourselves in position to win. It's just disappointing that the refs blew the game. Replay was supposed to eliminate plays like that -- the evidence WAS incontrovertible that the runner came up short on fourth down. It baffles me why it was not our ball. I really hate blaming the refs, but the sheer number of blown calls tonight was really unacceptable and had an unquestionable impact on the outcome of the game. Throw in the dangerous field conditions if you want to as well.
On the bright side, we still won six games this season, and we get to go to a bowl game. For all those fans who went to sleep instead of watching, I think you made the right call. |

Robert from Alioneye seems to have confirmation that they were indeed WAC officials which say pretty much everything about the bull!!!! penalty on Tavon and the HORRENDOUS SPOT/NON-OVERTURN...just ridiculous.
