Per my friend, whose son started on the varsity team alongside Mike at Riverton:

Quote:
Mike Tisdale contracted to play pro ball in Germany. Six figure income, substantial portion tax free, housing, meals, and transportation paid for. Not the NBA but a nice gig.

With meals provided for, Mike should gain some weight with that high calories German food. Congratulations Mike! Sounds like a good deal for Tis.

Congrats, Tiz. Look forward to hearing how things go for you overseas. Germany is a nice country to be in, imo.

Thats great that I get to see another former Illini playing in Germany. Right now I'm deployed but I will be back in Germany for the second half of the season. When I get to one of Mikes games I'll take pictures and post them, just like the Trent Vs Roger game.

Eat lots of potato salad and sausages. Will help with rebounding.

Congrats Tis. Spend that stronger Euro in the US when you come back in the off season.

Tisdale's mother, Robin, confirmed that Tisdale has signed, though she didn't know with what team.

The 7-foot-1, 250-pound Tisdale left Illinois tied for first in games played, second in blocked shots and eighth in field goal percentage.

On a related note, James Augustine signed with UCAM Murcia to remain and play in Spain.

Tisdale will play for John Patrick, who coached former Illini guard Chester Frazier at BG Goettingen.

That just doesn't have quite the same ring to it as "7 feet". Darn metric system.
