If I read right, it looks like Sam and Coach Groce mutually agree he is the right 'fit' for Illinois and that Sam has accepted this opportunity.

Welcome Sam... Right?

And clean up your twitter language if you're heading to law school. It's open to the public kid.

Groce keeps the ball rolling.

I'd say, clean up your language regardless of law school. That aside, welcome to the newest Illini??

Yes welcome. And I think all of us older guys will comment on the language whereas the youngsters will tell us to settle down. Of course, the old guys decide who gets any available jobs .

Tweet at 2AM with some colorful language? Reads to me as a drunken tweet.

Welcome! Like none of us...

have ever swore when we get excited about something! Please come in and give us some rebounding and shot blocking (and a little scoring would be nice also).

Hopefully we will hear something more official later this morning. I did hear that the visit went well and that he was likely to come onboard. We are definitely his best option.

Great news. As has been covered, a valuable addition at no cost to the program. Way to go Groce & staff!

This could be a bigger pick up than it seems on the surface. You never miss role players until you don't have them.

You have to make people defend the paint. The three is so easy in college basketball but not with a man in your face. I hope Sam and Egwu can be enough of a post presence along with BP3 and JB penetrating to open up the 3 pt line a bit. I much prefer kick outs to just looking for the 3 off high screens. I feel much better with the addition of another post player. Starting to look like we might hold our own against the top of the league. Sure hope so.

I like Groce alot. He is bringing in talent from all over the country. Now with that pg from Tulsa gets on campus, he will commit. It obvious JG sees that we need more talent and heart on this team. I am expecting after this year we will see a lot of transfers IF the lack of heart on this team is true. If JG is building depth for us to play 10 deep and fast break basketball this will put #illini nation on back on the map quickly!

Clearly, you've never been to law school. That kind of language is common, particularly around finals and midterms, and nearly every event comes with either 2 drinks per ticket or an open bar. When's the last time you heard someone who drinks heavily have the language of a saint?

Welcome, Sam! I'm looking forward to see what you can do!

Way to go Coach G. We need some tough beef under the basket and it appears Sam will fill that role.

I am still waiting for better confirmation than a tweet.
However, if true, welcome to the O & B Sam.

zOMG!!!

This is an awesome pickup. 5th year kid, won't burn a 2013 scholarship, provides much needed depth and toughness, and is ready to play. Wow.
