Robert from A Lion Eye just tweeted that Boles is injured and not at Camp Rantoul this week. Same with walk-on Tim Lukas.

Great to see he made it to Rantoul. He looks to be in good shape too. Legit size.

Good that he's there. I didn't notice his name on the split squad rosters that were posted yesterday, but figured his transfer probably came right around the time they were finalizing the lists and they just couldn't get his name on it in time. Looks like that's what happened.

"#illini OL switches for today: first group - Thornton at tackle, Pocic at guard on same side. Feldmeyer C, Heitz G, Cvijanovic T".........Sounds good to me.

Interesting moving Heitz to OG, I actually like that a lot. I just don't think he has the foot speed for pass protection at OT, but he fits in perfect at OG.
I wonder where Karras fits into everything as nearly every preview seemed to indicate he would be a starter most likely at OG. It sounds like he will definitely be a big part of the rotation. |

If Heitz works out then I'm guessing Karras is our swing guard who will also get plenty of snaps in this high pace offense. Everything I've read on Nowicki is that he is better suited for guard. So I'm curious to see where he lines up when he is up to speed. Other wise between him, Klatcko (if that happens), Karras and Heitz we have really good young depth at the guard position. |

So it looks like we will have Hull, Sanni as the starters with Davis and Thomas as backups. I wonder who will be the 5th, probably Nick North? With Davis at safety, it looks like our CB rotation, at least initially, will be Hawthorne, Green, Eaton Spence and Jack Ramsey. I would have to guess they need to give playing time to at least one or two of the FR to get them up to speed for next season. |
