Ryan Baker broke the news first, Supinie is just stealing information, like normal.

Nice. That feels like the best fit of the available options.

Supinie is the human retweet, except he's the guy that just quotes the tweet so his name shows up instead of the original source. What a bum.

Agreed. The rumor back in the spring was that it would be the game vs. Cincinnati (in fact a Cincinnati news site was reporting that it was a done deal).

I brought up the Soldier Field game to Coach Beckman at the Caravan event I attended and he said he didn't want to give up the home game with Cincinnati and that he preferred to have it be the Washington game.

Why? Is Farm Aid using Memorial Stadium that date?

Awesome! That should make for a great first year Illinois-Pac 12 experience

Here's Illinois' 2013 non-conference lineup (with 1 opponent yet to be scheduled)-

Aug. 31 Southern Illinois Memorial Stadium
Sept. 7 Cincinnati Memorial Stadium
Sept. 14 Washington Soldier Field

I think the Cincinnati game is the return game in the series? (from the Thanksgiving weekend 2009 contest at Cinci).

So Washington doesn't have to play Illinois at home in 2013 (it's a semi-home game, but still). Then, Washington gets Illinois at their brand new Husky Stadium in 2014. Good deal for Washington! And Illinois' best non-conference home opponent in 2013 suddenly isn't visiting CU. Okay then.

I wonder how this will affect season ticket holders. Included? Not included - reduced price for remaining games?

I hope at the very least season ticket holders get first chance at good seats.

I am sure it will be an option to buy type deal with season tickets.

There is still one non-con game to be scheduled and the last 2 weekends of September open.

They are already playing Cincy and Washington... find another Charleston Southern, pay them off, and then you would have 7 games in C-U and the 1 in Chicago.

Then just sell season tickets with or without the Soldier Field game.

I hope something happens between now and next year to make this game an event. Right now I see a half full (trying to be optimistic) stadium. Maybe the WSU game in the old Soldier Field is clouding my O&B glasses.

Illinois To Play at Soldier Field in 2013

Illini Will Host Washington at the Home of the Chicago Bears on Sept. 14, 2013

University of Illinois Director of Athletics Mike Thomas announced that the Fighting Illini will play the Washington Huskies at Soldier Field in Chicago on Sept. 14, 2013. It will mark Illinois' second game at the historic home of the Chicago Bears.

"This is a great opportunity for our football team to play in one of the most historic football venues in the nation," Thomas said. "Soldier Field is in an incredible location that will allow our fans in the Chicagoland area and from around the state an opportunity to watch the Fighting Illini take on an outstanding Pac-12 opponent in Washington."

Ticket information for the Illinois-Washington game at Soldier Field will be announced a later date.

I believe we play them in Seattle at the Seahawks stadium?? So it's a neutral for a neutral, I think?

Played ASU last year as well. The B1G and PAC12 scheduling agreement was canceled.

They are both in Seattle, maybe 20 min between. Husky Stadium is right on Lake Washington (very cool to see).
