Should be able to manage at least 2-2 next year for non-con. I don't know a whole lot about Cinci and I'm pretty sure Wash. is supposed to be pretty decent the next few years right?

Fill up the rest of 2014 with "should win" games. Maybe schedule a mid-level MAC team at home or a BCS team like Syracuse?

Great start to the 2015 non-con schedule.

Then 2016 is that god-awful return trip to WMU

Only away games out of all of those were scheduled by Guenther and Zook...

Not at all. I still believe we'll buyout of the @ WMU game.

And if we don't, we can easily take over their stadium. I went to the b-ball game at WMU in 2010 and there were almost as many Illini fans as home fans in attendance.

isnt scheduling that game @ WMU in 2016 the last momento of the RG era, right?

my plan for ooc, if it is to be 4 games
a. open at home against one of the Illinois directional schools or ISU
b. home game against a MAC or SunBelt
c. a home and home versus Pac12 of your choice
d. a home and home versus ACC

I prefer 9 games in conference, but only if all 4 major conferences do so as well

YES!!! A Pac-12 and ACC (or BigEast) would be ideal.

Well let's look at Illinois' non-conference schedules thus far.

2013- all 4 games set, 3 at home, 1 at Soldier Field. That's good, that's exciting. It's a drawback for CU that the best home game has been moved, but hopefully Washington is built up to a big game with a big crowd.

I like that they scheduled a game on Sept 28 as opposed to Sept 21. I'd rather not play at Nebraska on Oct 5th coming off a bye week.

2014- That's a 1-0 start, probably a 2-0 start before a treacherous trip to Washington. That's good.

2015- There's a 2-0 start. Very good.

2016- On the bright side, that game @WMU -- originally announced as Sept 3 -- will be contested in Week 2. No you don't want to play that game, but if you have to (thanks RG!) you really don't want to play that game Week 1.

Tom Sims and Eric Wolford both coach for Youngstown State. Sims - DL and Wolford is Head Coach.

Should be a nice welcome back whipping

I think we play W. Michigan in more sports than any other non-con school. Football, basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, golf, track, gymnastics.
