Ta'Jarvis Fuller No Longer With Illini

Ta'Jarvis Fuller and Illinois parted ways after a recent violation of team rules.

Beckman declined further comment, but said the native of Fort Myers, Fla. "voluntarily withdrew" from school.

Wow - very unfortunate news.

Fuller was an early enrollee too.

Was expecting big things from him as an Illini and early on too.
Heck, ALE had him #27 (as a true freshmen) on his Top 90 Illini

either he already blew his first two chances or he did something pretty seriously bad - bad enough to get kicked off the team and quit school.

He just played against Charleston Southern! Had the club wrapped around the cast on his hand/arm. WTF?!?!?!

That's my thinking as well. It musta been pretty bad for this to just all of a sudden happen and for him to leave school. Oh we'll, move on.

WOW! Didn't see or imagine this happening. He seemed like he was a really good student athlete from his commitment video.

Well thats a big time loss for us.....

Makes me wonder are we going to continue with the Star LB position then??? or just go with the normal 4-3 base defense after this year

cause we have no one to play the Star LB right now....

Our Depth Chart looked like this:

A.Williams (SR)
T. Fuller (FR)
B.Bello (FR)

Now if we take E.Thomas III and put him back at Star LB next year we have even bigger wholes at Safety with Suppo and PNY graduating, Hull (never stays healthy) and Nick North and Taylor Barton and thats it at S for us

Not looking good

We have commitments from a bunch of 2013 DBs and Athletes who can play safety. The problem will be a serious lack of experience at the star and safety positions. In essence. We are going to have one experienced guy for three positions (Thomas). With a number of spring enrollees, 2013 is going to be a huge class.

Ouch. Beckman needs to keep up his strong start to recruiting. With the injuries and this, the defense is simply decimated behind the D-line.

Gotta have some patience that Beckman will right the ship.

One thing Beckman can sell this 2013 class and 2014, is PLAYING TIME. That alone is often times enough to get a couple highly ranked 3* or 4* players to commit. Our Jr & Soph classes are not "rich".

It wouldn't surprise me to hear about something on the police blotter. It would have to be a pretty serious infraction to warrant an immediate dismissal.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Without hearing anything about him being in trouble before to all of a sudden being gone means something pretty serious had to have happened.

Weird. I just saw him on campus this morning. 99 percent sure it was him. Might not have been though.

Saw a Beckman quote from today's presser that said Fuller "voluntarily" left the program and is now figuring out a way to transfer from UI. So he's probably still in classes?

unless I have it wrong, if he wants to transfer & play in FBS, he not only misses this year but also next year.

My guess is he ends up at Bethune-Cookman or Florida A & M, where he can at least play next year.

Word from a players father is Fullers "infraction" was not the first time it happened. Matters not what it was, but he knew it was wrong, was warned about it at least once before, and did it again anyway. The lad has some growing up to do, unfortunately.

FWIW, Beckman was giving a politician's answer. He was asked what happened with Fuller in a variety of ways and every time gave a stock answer "he voluntarily left the program" and refused to move beyond that talking point. That could well mean that Fuller was given the opportunity to leave "voluntarily" before being kicked off the team.
