I would bet that even with no coaching experience whatsoever, I could get equal or greater results than Beckman so far. Just horrendous.

I've never been able to switch into fun bad mode. At least if this was the pros I could hope for a top pick. I am 49 years old so I have been through a bunch of bad seasons. I have been pretty upset with the performance before, But this is really making me think of other things to do.

I feel firing a coach after one season makes no sense and would be a joke. But if it was done somehow I would fully support it. I think this may be worse than the Tepper years to me. Please change my mind Illini. Especially the defense, I just don't understand how it is possible they are this bad.

You can't blame injuries on all the stupid mistakes this team continues to make. Coaching needs to take the blame on that. Sorry, coach.

Anyone think Reilly should start over Nate still?

That said, no OL, no depth, no WRs that can get separation or make a catch to help out their QB, and poor recruiting classes/washouts eventually catching up to you is how you get these games.

I do think it's time to look for a new DC.

Agreed.

Particularly when a bad Air Force team lost to Michigan 31-25. I guess the Air Force talent and depth is far superior to ours.

:rolleyes: Yeah I'm sure you could do better with this roster than a guy who went 14-2 in conference in 2010 and 2011 and was courted by such coaches as Urban Meyer and Mike Gundy.

I wish I could meet some of you people face to face just to have a conversation with about anything just to hear what might come out of your mouths. If you're this funny on the internet I can only imagine what that would be like.

Not going to defend, but will stay on my patience bandwagon. One thing to remember is that the young guys are still playing hard for Beckman (see Teko Powell at the end of the game). Like J Leman the first years of Zook, this game experience does pay dividends later. In the meanwhile, we get to see beat downs like this. If they don't come out inspired in 2 weeks, we could be in some trouble.

Honest question. Yes we are 7 games in and thats a relatively short time. What have you seen from Beckman so far that makes you think he is the guy that will turn this around?

I don't get defending Beckman at this point. We have gotten worse as the season goes on. We weren't great last year but we competed for the most part. We can't even execute a competent play on offense, or stop simple runs on defense. This team is flat terrible in every phase of the game.

I am not saying to fire the guy today but I think it's fair to question his coaching acumen at this point. We should be seeing some improvement as the season winds on, instead we continue to spiral out of control.
