I'm intrigued by a matchup with Butler, but I think I'd rather watch us square off with the Tar Heels just because of the history between the two teams. But the fact that there's NO history between the Illini and the Bulldogs is also interesting...

The intriguing matchup is Groce getting another shot at UNC.

Sure, USC won't make the tourney. But a 30-point win is a great outing even against a bad team. Plus, it's looking from the results today and yesterday like we've got a real chance at winning Maui. Winning a tourney might be mostly just symbolic, but Maui is a big name.

Actually there's a ton of history between Illinois and Butler. Aside from Mizzou and Notre Dame, Illinois has played more games against Butler than any other non-B10 team (37). Just haven't played them recently, last game was in 1971.

Fully agree. I haven't understood the UNC hype all year. McAdoo is a stud, but the rest are good, not great players. Their 2/3's are pretty average for a Top 10 team and their PG is a true freshman.

I just don't see it. I think they're largely ranked on name, as usual.
