I know its a long way away but is it possible to get some sort of petition going to get a time change for the Wisconsin game? Perhaps to noon. If you haven't noticed it's a 2:30 game on Superbowl sunday.

How empty was the Hall last year? Just seems to me we can't fill it now and people with tickets who live farther away may stay home to watch the big game. Just seems to me it would be in Illinois' best interest to make it more convenient to fill the seats. Granted I know TV has a big say in things.

Iowa and Minny play on the BTN at noon, so that's why we're at 2:30.

Nobody wants to watch Iowa not even hawkeye fans. And everyone in minny will be ice fishing. BTN make the switch.

BTN does have the authority/ability to make the switch, but I've only ever once seen them do that, and it was earlier this year. Indiana was scheduled to play a cupcake at home on BTN, but they switched that game to the digital network, and moved Iowa's game to BTN, because they wanted to give every team a fair shot at being on BTN against a "cupcaker" at home. Basically, they could make the switch but 98% won't.

I am going to the Wisconsin game and I assumed that the trip back to Chicago would be much more interesting listening to the Super Bowl.

I hate when the Illini play on Super Bowl Sunday. They never seem to play well.

Since I plan on attending this game, I can't think of a better sports Sunday than going to the game and then watching the Super Bowl after! I do understand why some people might not be happy, though.

The first time I remember them playing Super Bowl Sunday was the G Tech game that brought the Flying Illini to #1. I also remember beating IU in Bloomington at a time that it would have been an upset, I am thinking 1993 or 1994.

llini's Nick Anderson makes a 30 foot jumper to beat the Hoosiers in Bloomington in 1989.

Classic. I watched the ending of that game with someone that had ZERO interest in sports. We were working on a high school bio assignment, and he went absolutely nuts when Nick hit that shot. He loved it. |

I went to the game vs. Iowa on super Sunday a few years ago. Had to drive to drive to Indy to a hotel for a flight out Monday AM. I live in MA and someone had to go to Indy for business. I happily volunteered. It was a pretty quiet crowd that day, save for me and a few other crazies.

Please get your GD Effen Cubs quotes properly credited. That glorious statement was made by Mr. Cub himself, Ernie Banks. Last edited by Dan; Dec 19, 2012 at 08:47 AM. |
