If you read the story there is no way Manti Te'o was duped, he was complicit through and through.

I keep refreshing ESPN's homepage to see how long they sit on this. Reaffirms my disdain for them.

EDIT: It just showed up at 4:16 AZ time on their webpage. Not their front page mind you, but on the NCAAF page

Wow they are clearly overlooking the facts on ESPN. Sad but I'm sure everyone was warned to be careful with this topic.

The WWE is more believable than Manti Teo's story.

Big time.

Of course, they're really protecting their journalistic integrity. At least trying to

them getting one-upped by Deadspin...a site that has been burying them? Yeah...they begrudingly had to give them credit for breaking the story...but if they could get away with it...they'd of taken credit

Once again raising the inherent conflict of interest between ESPN's journalism wing and pretty much everything else they do.

ESPN has no incentive and every disincentive in the world in doing any fact checking on this kind of story.

If they used all of their resources, they could blow this story up!

If this was a program that ESPN doesn't feel they have to protect, it would be covered better.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned, but i believe there was a spike in Notre Dame #5 jerseys when the story originally broke about his girlfriend passing and he played that game against Michigan State. So Notre Dame, who made money off of his "tragedy" is also going to deny deny deny.

They're covering their own ass at this point.

Now does this story ever get this big if Te'O wasn't a Golden Domer? Legit question.

December 26th?? So Notre Dame knew a couple weeks before the BCS game that this was a hoax? Stunning.

I'd like to say that this will permenantly tarnish his reputation. But then I'm reminded of the cult surrounding another linebacker who was convicted of obstruction of justice in a still unsolved double murder.

Arguable, he's not in the same politically protected class as Ray Lewis, OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson.

Lennay Kekua was a Stanford student and Cardinal football fan when the two exchanged glances, handshakes and phone numbers that fateful weekend three seasons ago.

She was gifted in music, multi-lingual, had dreams grounded in reality and the talent to catch up to them.

The plan was for Kekua to spend extensive time with the whole Te'o family when upwards of 40 of them came to South Bend in mid-November for ND's Senior Day date with Wake Forest
