Students receive 1 free ticket to Soldier Field game vs Washington with purchase of season ticket.

The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced 2013 football ticket prices, including an additional section of family rate season tickets priced at $99. The Fighting Illini will again play seven home games, including three in the month of September and a marquee Big Ten slate of Wisconsin, Michigan State, Ohio State and Northwestern.

Sideline season ticket prices remain the same price as last year for the seven-game schedule, $230 for seats outside the 20 yard-lines and $315 for prime locations between the 20s on each side. Single-game tickets, which go on sale on July 23, will be $49 for Big Ten contests and $39 for non-conference games.

Hmmm... Might not have minded switching my horseshoe seats to those 102 "family" seats. Seems kind of odd to put a family section next to what will likely include some vulgar students.

Quick question for those that have attended more games than myself. Where would you say the best seating is for a good view of the field. I have sat in the sideline seats before which was ok but not that great of a view. The reason I ask is I am going to purchase season tickets next year and would like some opinions. Thanks in advance

You just can't beat the value of the horseshoe in my opinion.

I have seats in section 206 and love them. I like sitting up high so I can see everything that is going on during every play. (However, my son would rather sit in the lower level. Everyone has his own preference. )

My season seats are in the horse shoe. The price is great, just sucks when the action is on the Northside of the field. If you can get East sideline somewhere I'd aim for rows 45-50 so you can be covered by the overhang (from sun for hotter games early in the year and rain) but it not block your view. Don't get first 5-10 rows on sideline since players can block the view there.

Thanks. I'm going for the tickets between the 20's. want to be high enough up to see the action. Had seats down on the first row for the penn st game and couldn't see much of anything. Looking to be closer to the center of the field and up higher

If I recall correctly, by the time you get to row 20-25 you can pretty much see the whole field. If you get the chance, perhaps go to the Spring Game for a chance to scope it out.

Last season they shared season ticket numbers (33k) in mid-August.

I have had seats in the balcony and main stands and sat in the horseshoe once and I personally think the balcony allows for a much better view of the game from more vantage points.

IMO...I sat in the horseshoe from 2005 till 2010 season. But just recently moved to section 206 in the balcony an aboustly love it! You can see the whole field an see plays develop! So if you can get your hands on tickets up in sections 206,205,204 area you will not be disappointed at all
