Illini Defense Stops Michigan

Illinois reached 20 wins for the 8th consecutive season after a 54-42 victory over the Michigan Wolverines Wednesday night. On the night of the Chief's last dance—which overshadowed the actual basketball game—seniors Warren Carter (18 points) and Rich McBride (11 pts) were the difference for the Illini. Prior to the contest Carter, McBride, and Marcus Arnold were honored in Senior Night festivities.
