My question is who in the portal (or remaining to enter the portal) is a better fit for TSJs replacement than Storr?
David Jones at Memphis is not currently in the portal, is considering the NBA, and would have major elite suitors if he did transfer.

But he’s from the Dominican Republic like OA and played for TA at DePaul his freshman year, so you’d think we’d at least be part of the discussion.

And he was a better and more valuable player than Storr last year, I’d wager 247 would make him the new #1 portal guy.

I assume we’re about to be flooded with insider suggestions that we’re in good shape with him.

Maddox "winning is very important to me... That's why I'm going to a team that was .500 and in the NIT last year rather than a team that won the Big 10 tourney and was in the Elite 8 finishing top 6 in the country."

Seems like a bright kid...

This has gotten out there a bit...but it got the point where Storr asked for a spot for his girlfriend on the woman's team. That was the main breaking point to me. Brad wasn't going to put Shauna in that position

I think worrying about our roster right now is a burden I will NOT heap upon my broad muscular shoulders right now......In fact , there is little that i worry about with the MBB , WBB and FB coaches that we have in place right now........They all three have gained my respect and confidence that they will do everything possible , within their possibilities , to acquire high major recruits and transfers and coach them up to a higher level and produce winning seasons......

With the portals still open and being nose to the grindstone workers in their jobs, I will await the opening of practices for a better understanding of what our respective seasons will look like.............this daily grinder is not good for my overall healthy balance of life , so even though I post every day , i don't hinge my happiness on who goes where.......

I do get excited when I hear good news , but I don't go off on a tangent when their is not so great news.....Too many fish in the sea so to speak and I trust all coaches to do the right thing......As many have said , before our last MBB season started I doubt there were many posting here who thought a second place finish in the B$G , a BTT title and an Elite 8 was in the works.......

I always hope for a Natty every year as my clock is ticking faster now , but I can't get so wrapped up in this portal stuff so much that I neglect my NL's.....And they won't let me get to that point......I sh*t you not.........so a balanced pru is a happy pru.......
The moral of this feeble story is to find your balance and enjoy life.....ain't no reset button that I know of .......

There really really ain't...........................

I don’t have a problem with getting the gf a spot on the women’s team if that can get a top player for the men- now if Shauna didn’t t have a spot I wouldn’t want her to have to crean somebody. maybe Kansas had a spot and we didn’t

It sounds like the money came down to 800k from us and Kansas was at 900k - so if Kansas was offering a spot for the gf we likely don’t get Storr anyway
You should have a problem with it. It's bad for business giving kids all the power that they want. And how do you force a women's team to take a player when they are building their own culture and need pieces that are fits for them. Again, bad business.

Sean is going to have a very good team next year. They are going to win alot of games. The money definitely factored in though....

I don't see the problem with it? Don't we make demands and decision based on what's best for us/family when reviewing potential employers at our jobs?

Is there an expectation of any other guys currently on the roster to hit the portal? Kind of assumed Moretti would, but haven’t heard much on that.

With the possibility of surgery on the table and recovery road ahead, how many schools would be lining up to offer him the NIL package he can get here?

I don't understand why Coleman would look to transfer if he is going to spend one more year in college, considering the above.
Honestly, Illinois would likely be his best NIL offer regardless because donors like him.

He's more of a great role player than a guy that's going to carry a team. He has illini donors that would likely give him more than he would fetch in the open market imo.

If your Illinois youre paying him for more than his value on the court because of the intangibles he brings to the program and how excited the fanbase would be with his return.

If somehow him and Domask returned, added a big time player like David Jones and a center then a national championship is on the table.

I bet that’s probably not even the most ambitious request some of these guys have made. I can’t imagine why coaches are retiring early.

(1) That was last year and our roster is very different next year.
(2) Ditto Xavier.
(3) Both are good, winning programs.

Money can be a discriminating factor here without invalidating his states desire to win
