Yea he def. got the potential. He can surely be one of the best 7 footers in CBB. I was just saying him immediately playing a big role for us as an incoming 16-17 y/o from Europe...I mean...that didn't work out too well for UCLA. But would surely be a good add don't get me wrong.
He'll be 21 at the beginning of next season and has been a semi-regular starter against grown men for two years (he was the more experienced and developed Ivicic Twin when Zvonimir left for UK).

Definitely some question marks of translation, but there isn't really precedent for that kind of player coming to college basketball, why would they? He probably hasn't been inside of a classroom in two years, not sure how that all works.

(Demin on the other hand just turned 18 in March and has next to no experience beyond his age group, where he has been spectacular. Think of elite Euro club youth teams as like Montverde Academy or something, same idea)

Demin is 18 years old and would be like a typical incoming freshman. But he's a 6'8 point guard that is a project lottery pick that has been playing against grown men since he plays for the Real Madrid senior team.
Demin has played 0.9 career minutes for the Real Madrid senior team. Those Euros love their precise statistics.

(As an aside though if it's anything like soccer I'm sure Demin does practice with the senior team, which would go a long way toward explaining how much better the skill development is in European basketball than the US)

Tomislav Ivisic is 20 years old and will turn 21 in August. He isn't a young guy coming over. He will be every bit as experienced as most upper classmen.

If we are able to get T Ivisic it would be awesome. But I'm not quite convinced it's him that we're targetting, yet, though. I'll have to look and try to find the post, but I thought an insider commented that he thought Brad was smart for looking for a big overseas because front court players have been very expensive in the portal this year - to me this implies that this big is a bit more of a "bargain" than I would imagine Ivisic would be.

But boy would I love it if it turns out I'm wrong!

Is there other info out there that makes people think it could be Ivisic? I guess someone did mention that maybe he followed Tyler Underwood on instagram? Is that right? Would be something, I guess...

I literally saw this site he was listed 16 y/o. The "about" section has him at 20 y/o but this site listing his stats says he's 16. Donno what I saw. He's big Zs twin brother. Yeah anyways...

Except Tomislav Ivisic will be 21 years old before the season starts. His twin brother already made the leap, and IMO he is a breakout candidate this year for Arkansas. I think Tomaslav would be a good get, to say the least.

If he came to Illinois and that is a BIG IF as I see no connection to him with this 7 footer (Ivisic) everyone is convinced is the guy or anyone on our staff so I fail to see how it’s a package deal. But if we were so fortunate to land him he would fill MD’S role and be more of a point forward per se not a point guard. He looks awesome on film, like a slightly smaller version of Cooper Flagg.

Not sure if I was the only person wondering, so I will post the link.

NBA International Player Rules For Foreign Born Basketball Players

We receive many requests and questions regarding immigration support for international basketball players that are eventually seeking to play in the National Basketball Association and related leagues such as the G League. Most of the time, these players are looking to come to the United States to obtain as much exposure and training as possible with NBA teams and related facilities to improve NBA Draft likelihood and status. One of the most popular pathways for basketball players to obtain exposure in the United States is to play in an American High School or College.

NBAPA CBA International Player Provisions:

G) If the player is an “international player” (defined below), and notwithstanding anything contained in subsections (A) through (F) above: (1) The player is or will be twenty-two (22) years of age during the calendar year of the Draft; or (2) The player has signed a player contract with a “professional basketball team not in the NBA” (defined below) that is located in the United States, and has rendered services under such contract prior to the Draft; or (3) The player has expressed his desire to be selected in the Draft in a writing received by the NBA at least sixty (60) days prior to such Draft (an “Early Entry” player). Article X 275 (c) For purposes of this Article X, an “international player” is a player: (i) who has maintained a permanent residence outside of the United States for at least the three (3) years prior to the Draft, while participating in the game of basketball as an amateur or as a professional outside of the United States; (ii) who has never previously enrolled in a college or university in the United States; and (iii) who did not complete high school in the United States. (d) For purposes of this Article X, a “professional basketball team not in the NBA” means any team that pays money or compensation of any kind – in excess of a stipend for living expenses – to a basketball player for rendering services to such team.
