How big a possibility is it that we leave a scholarship open? Not really a fan of doing that (it's kinda like a wasted opportunity) but Brad's not against it to say the least.
I would guess very, very likely. It is a clearly-stated, and oft-expressed, strategy from our staff.
Think Hummer is a closer replacement to Marcus then anyone we have so far to replace TJ or Hawk. Jake can replace Luke and other transfers superior to last year’s players. Believe Tre is being underestimated but need a big defender. Really not worried about scoring but have no idea about defense. Kylan, Ty, Tre, and Ben pretty solid four but not convinced Morez or Booth can fill the fifth.
Good point. I think Humdinger, Humalicious, Hum-baby! is Luke Goode on steroids. Markus's game was more like that of a mini-Jokic: footwork, mid-range, power, freethrows, pass.

Sure. Why not? He's more of a SG than a PG anyway.

But we need more than 2 guards on the team. Right now we have DGL and Boswell and that's it.
It seems like there's a chance that those 2 could end up as the only 2 "true" guards on the team. If we leave a scholarship open, and we manage to land both European targets (T Ivisic and Egor Demin being the current guesses, and Demin is 6'8 or 9) and then land an athletic wing for our last spot, then that's it.

But we'll see, it doesn't seem to be a lock that we'll land both Euro guys, and there hasn't been much for hints lately on who the next (and possibly last?) portal target might be.

A team with second weekend aspirations having that top four is, well, not actually a team with second weekend aspirations.

It’s possible that a few European players could be major contributors but recent history is not promising in that respect.

It’s turning into a guard’s game and we have like 3 guards as of now (counting White/Ty as 1).

I know a lot of people are skeptical of bringing in European players, but if we got Egor Demin, he would be one of the most NBA ready players we've had in program history. The kid is 18, has an NBA body, is an amazing shooter, plays 1-4 all while being an elite passer. The only real holes in his game are his ability to drive to the rim and athleticism (which gets questioned for every EU player). I honestly don't think there's a player that entered the portal this year that is better than him. The funny thing is he is especially performing well in Europe through posting up smaller guards and backing them down to the basket. Sound familiar?

Tomislav is an extremely serviceable big who has proven himself overseas and has been getting better every year. While he will get compared to his twin brother, they share essentially the same skillset but Tomislav is a bit worse at the defensive end. He would immediately be better than any 5 that we've had since Kofi and plays a much less heliocentric style of basketball compared to him, which is what Underwood has shown he wants to do with his offense.

Obviously there could be other targets, but I trust the staff to assess talent and fit for our current team.

My great uncle just shipped me a new bottle of scotch. Macallan 12 year Double Cask. I will be cracking into that tonight.
Ohhh. Never tried that one. I'm a big fan of the Macallan Fine Oak. I always have a bottle on hand.

Let me get this straight you compared Domask’s to one of the top two players in the world???? If he was that good the national title would reside in Champaign!!! Just say no to drugs

Macallan is fine glass of scotch, I prefer Oban or Lagavulin, but I would never have a problem
with Macallan. Pour a glass and have a toast to next years Illini.
Agree; love a good sherry cask highland, but much prefer a smoky speyside or isla.

That is one Godzilla sized "if" right there.

we arent in play for any of these guys rn. it makes no sense to me putting all our chips into European players. I got trust in brad and we added good pieces, but how much scoring came from TSJ domask and hawkins? we need to add an alpha who can get buckets. big 10 is stacked this year
no one said we aren't in play for any of these guys. You are jumping to conclusions.
