NBA Draft

I can understand a little of shading Bronny for getting invites or accolades based on his name, but he was a top-20 prospect in high school largely based on his talent. And in terms of his performance this season, do people forget that he missed the entire summer and the better part of the fall after suffering cardiac arrest and undergoing surgery for a heart defect?

For the record, I absolutely don't think he is NBA ready and another year in college would do him wonders for development at the right program and situation, but it's not even been 6 months since he was cleared to play.
This is exactly the point, skills wise he wasn’t even close to being a Top 20 prospect in his class and and should have never been a burger boy in my opinion. There was a lot of hype and public relations campaign by his father’s camp in order to get him rated that high. His younger brother is more of an NBA prospect than he is.

I thought a few of the players with great showings at Portsmouth usually earn combine invites. Is that not the case? Did any make it this year, with how well Marcus did there, I expected to see him on list.
Portsmouth hasn't been an event for relevant NBA prospects for years, and Domask is not an NBA prospect at all, he just fundamentally doesn't play that style of basketball.

The overrating of Bronny James has been absurd and I ultimately just feel bad for the kid, but in partial defense of his combine invite, even though he shouldn't be a potential draft prospect, the reality of his father's potential availability this offseason and his desire to play with his son means Bronny IS a draft prospect, and so giving front offices a view of, frankly, "how far away from being an NBA player is this kid?" is valuable to them from a scouting perspective.

Not sure about CH as an NBA player. Not enough O to be a 3, not strong enough to be a 4. Classic tweener. Waiting for some honest feedback from NBA scouts before he decides on anything else is still a good idea. Coming back to IL or another college team might be in his best long term interest. Work on weaknesses and have a prominent role while improving draft stock. I'd be shocked if he's anywhere near the 1st round in this draft. Tail end of 2nd round/undrafted more likely.

You don't judge talent very well. If his name wasn't James you would have never heard of him

Given his age and looking at not just the trajectory of his improvement the last 3 years, but also what level he is right now (I.e. ppg, rpg, etc) I don’t see how another year of experience at college and adding another year to his age is going to make him any more NBA ready than he is now.
Sell your talents to the highest college bidder, bank the money and plan on a good career playing over seas.

Domask not even invited to the G League showout is even more ridiculous
Fun fact: Zacharie Perrin is listed as top 100 prospect

Bronny being an McD's AA was solely on his name. Complete nepotism. Dude averaged like 11 points a game (pretty sure there were some Cali HS playoff games he didn't even score), undersized CG from the beginning and was never the best player on Sierra Canyon EVER.

His HS ranking was a complete joke that was generated to drive traffic and clicks and those expectations clearly hurt him as well, as he got totally exposed at the P5 D1 level.

Talent wise, Bronny was closer to a Reggie Bass than any of the top 20 guys in his class and that's a fact.

Number 11 to the Bulls....1 time
If that happens, then Eversley and Karnišovas will be fired, and justifiably so. If the Bulls want TSJ, then they should trade down to get a couple of positions in the 2nd round or a late first round pick, as TSJ is probably back end of the first round at best case scenario.

To be clear, I hope that TSJ goes high in the draft, but I do not want the Bulls to overpay to get him.

LeBron will force the Lakers to take him with 2nd rd pick or as UFA so he can play a few games with him
I think he will shop that around to various teams, as he has ability to opt into free agency. I believe you are correct though...I think the James' will be a package deal, and it comes down to which team will bite first (if they want Lebron).

Does anyone know why TSJ is not participating in the 5 on 5 on Tuesday? Is it because of legal matters or was this a choice by TSJ?
There's only so many games each day, so Shannon could be playing the next day. They also try to keep players from the same school separated.

Hawkins' combine stats were uninspiring.

6-8.5 and worse in shooting/vert than last year. I assume his knee is playing a part.

Anyone know how to watch the 5 on 5 today?

I’m moderately annoyed by the Pacers, but think it would be a good landing spot for TJ with how fast they play.
They have a lot of young wings. Not that he couldn’t compete but not sure the wing is an area of need for them. Mathuran is not playing due to injury.

Am watching some uninspired basketball from the Forehan-Kelly team, lots of bricks been thrown around.

Am seeing a lot of G League and role players at the next level, very weak draft class this year.
