Well, we'll have to pick up 5 strokes on Florida, Purdue or Auburn tomorrow, or we'll be going home early. 14 strokes off the lead.

Good Luck tomorrow, ILLINI!

anything is doable. That 14 strokes we are off the lead happened today, leaders shot -6 and we were +8

Illinois is even through holes 3-6, still 5 shots back. Auburn and Florida are off to under par starts, so it is just Purdue at +3 that are in the Illini sights. Hopefully, the wind gets really gusty and scores are all over the place. That probably provides the best chance for closing the gap.

Dylan Meyer needs to go low and he's +2 already. It's not looking good but still plenty of golf to go!

And Illinois out to +10 tied for 7th. Three teams to jump now to get into 5th which is still Purdue at +3. Better hope for the best back 9 Illinois has played this week.

And St. Marys and Augusta started on the much tougher back 9. Going to be hard to get past them if they are playing the front 9 and we are playing the back 9 the way we have played the back 9 this week.

And suddenly we are back in 6th place (still at +10) with Purdue and Florida tied for 4th/5th at +5.

We are just losing too many shots to the field. Tough conditions today, but we are at +7 (Including Meyer at +4). You can't do that and expect to advance. We have about 6 holes left to mount a decent run and hope for a collapse somewhere.

These last six holes, we have played terribly thus far in the tournament. I have low hopes that we will make it.

Agree, ILL is going to have to close very strong down the stretch on the exact holes that have cost them each previous round . . . and have some good luck with the field. Florida is on a very bad trajectory over the front 9 with 8-11 holes to play so they might end up at +15 by the end of it. So there is still a chance, but a very slim one.

Agree with this thinking.

I'll call +12 as the number they need for a playoff. Still time. New Mexico may be the team to watch. Fading fast.

anyone know the tiebrakers and how we are setup against Purdue/Florida? I assume it may have to do with the 5 golfer?
