As annoyed as we are with this, think of all 250-300 Dayton fans.
First thought out of my wife's mouth!I hate this as a fan, I hate it for the players, coaches, and staff, but it's the right thing to do. Life can and will go on without sports for a month or so. I'm not sure how, but I'll be trying to figure that out over the weekend. Something tells me that my "honey-do" list is going to get dusted off.
Or, people actually care about slowing the spread. No one wants to take the blame for it if something happened. That's what it comes down to.
So we are saying everyone should stay home. There are people that go to worksites with thousands of employees every day. We are going to completely shut the country down for months. I think that is too much. 36750 people die in auto accidents in the USA in 2018. Out of abundance of caution, we should not drive.
I wish you were wrong and they are actually thinking about the communities and players, but you are more likely right. No one wants to take the blame for it if something happened. That's what it comes down to.
There is also no telling how many player may have already contracted the virus. As player become aware of who has been affected, it could really change to look of some rosters. The whole exercise could have just devolved from "which team was best prepared for March" to "which team got infected the least."This was inevitable, and given the situation, the correct choice. Overall, I think people are being a bit overzealous and overly cautious, given the nature of the disease; however, since all the other American sports leagues have cancelled/suspended play, the NCAA had to follow suit. If any transmission of the disease occurred to participants/attendees of the tournament, the fallout would have been tremendous. The NCAA already has a reputation of caring about money more than the well-being of student-athletes, and that reputation would have been multiplied tenfold had they held the tournament this year.
so all the basketball players are going to avoid contact with 9 other healthy people and probably run across hundreds each day instead. what's your logic here?
Like have a ton of people in the SFC to recognize them.....University should do something to recognize the basketball team.
. Not exactly....Like have a ton of people in the SFC to recognize them.....
Well, Ayo still has some #UnfinishedBusiness
