True every coach will probably have a similar sales pitch, however, every other coach will not have an inside sales person (Liddell father). They are also expected to sign McKinney, this cannot bode well for us.

At the end of the day he will be at Missouri and the STL floodgates will go there as well.
I hope they talk regularly about the school he likes. Not sure how that favors anyone.

I wouldn't put too much stock in their fathers "growing up together" just because they are from the same area. They're not even the same age and Cuanzo's younger so it's not like Liddell SR. would have looked up to him as a kid. It's a nice story though.

I hope all coaches care about their kids and they will do long term. Not sure that favors anyone.

Both schools are pitching a position-less system. Not sure that favors anyone.

McKinney is the one advantage in Mizzou's favor that I took from this article and that's only if he signs.

Man, I'd love to snatch Ramey out of their backyard. That would at least in part ease the pain of losing Tilmon and Liddell to Mizzou. But good grief......why can't we land a big man?

Okoro becomes that much more important.
Martin hasn't talked to Ramey in a long while. I don't know what happened, and even Ramey's father doesn't, but I don't think Martin is interested in him anymore. Either that or Ramey knows where he's going and just waiting. He may still like Louisville and is waiting to see if anything else happens with them.

Okay, fair enough, I didn't miss that part. But I also know that I don't believe for a second that a future Lottery Pick (Liddell) wont have his parents involved in his final say so. Either way he will not end up here imo.

It would be nice to have Courtney Ramey. It's always a good thing to upgrade your talent if you can do it without creating team chemistry issues. But we lost to Michigan State because we were out-rebounded 37-15. We lost to Ohio State because we were out-rebounded 45-22. We lost to Wisconsin because we were chewed up inside by a superior post player. In each case our point guard out-played theirs.

Courtney Ramey would be a nice luxury to have. But we're not getting anywhere until we get some inside strength. I keep seeing new offers to guards, but we need some beef and rim protectors worse.

I agree, they should be. Anyone paying attention knows that Cuonzo can recruit, and probably coach D, but he hasn't the foggiest clue of how to coach offense.

Mr. & Mrs. Liddell, if you want your son to get better, send him to a place like Illinois where there's a coach who can improve your son's natural abilities. Plus with the guards we have, all we need is your son and young Mr. Okoro from Normal to put us back at the top of the B1G.

There are a few different roster constructions that can work really well in college hoops.

One is traditionally balanced, w/ bigs and guards. This requires bigs that can rebound.

One is with four guards and a rim protector. This requires guards that can shoot.

We have one of each of those. I know Ayo is a middling shooter, and I don't know about Ramey, but if those guys can hit 35-40% in addition to Trent and Leron, we could win if Ebo develops defensively. Teams are just going to keep clogging the paint if we have one shooter on the entire team, and it won't matter how good our bigs are offensively.

Another poster stated IU cannot swoop in and steal any recruit they want, heck even for in state talent. Nor can they automatically be in the picture for virtually any 5* player, like UNC, KU, UK and DU are able.

Blue Blood, wrt NCAA is a much different definition than your societal definition. IU has fallen from that lofty status. However, if Archie turns things around, they have the ability to regain it moreso than someone else has the ability to break into that elite status.

All of this is of course MHO.
I agree with the recruiting idea of the blue bloods that has been thrown out there, but it got me thinking about UNC because they don't seem to get the top 2-3 guys in classes as much. I checked the list of one and dones who have been drafted and it was no surprise that it went Kentucky (21), Duke (10), and Kansas/UCLA (8) at the top, but UNC has only had 2. They're behind powerhouses like GTech, LSU, UNLV and Washington.

Now, I'm obviously not saying they aren't blue bloods, because their results (historical and recent) speak for themselves, just interesting that they are going about it differently.

(This is any one and done who was drafted at any point in the draft)

Other schools with 5 or more are:
5 - Arizona, Washington
6- Ohio State, Texas

Highly-athletic 2018 wing. Mac Irvin Fire product. Chin Coleman was out to see him on Wednesday. Has physical tools that simply don't exist on the current roster.

Yup, if you get his '019 top 75 brother (The Show) to decommit from Kansas and join him in C/U. That's how these things work. Who was our last brother combination??

If offer is commitable I think he accepts. Mac Irvin player likely has played with Damonte and Ayo. Chin ties to MF looks like a strong connection. Just think we need bigs.

Take him if he wants to come...kid is very skilled and very athletic with a flair for something different when he seems to touch the ball.

Last kid that looked like this on a highlight film was Lovett imo!

Flying ILLINI make up of a team is on the way back imo.

BU reflects on those days in interviews, remembers the buzz around the program, and we for the most part had 6-3"-6-7" type of guys. Honestly believe we will have athletes on this team within 2 years top to bottom running up and down, pressure defense and rotating in a solid 9-10 players every game.

That team had two guys that would play for over ten years in the NBA, another nba player in Liberty who left early, and other guys like Battle and Bardo who could play above the rim. Frazier is the only kid on the roster now with anything resembling that type of talent.

Maybe, but I think it says more about what he thinks about the players he has.

Iím betting on a 5 man class. Donít have a clue which players are leaving and itís not healthy to speculate. I think the lack of progress and Underwoodís comments post game signal an overhaul of the roster.

Not a coincidence offers went out immediately.

Liked the comparison of IU to ND football. IU may be off the blue blood list, but at this point our orange is diametrically opposed to blue on the color wheel. I have confidence that BU will make improvements, but the tide has clearly not turned yet.

Don't see much on the recruiting side to get me excited other than Ayo. Hopefully the tide comes in followed by a storm surge.
