Ronnie fields had a couple extra rungs on his ladder. In danger of beheading himself on the rim every time he jumped.

That said I would gladly watch this kid in transition or be the first cutter in spread for a few years.

If Trent can be a part of making a catch of Glover, great. Back to the future - more excited about the overall game of Trice with his skills and abilities as a potential Illini.

I have. Tyke Peacock from right in Urbana. 6'1" and high jumped over 7'7". Used to be at Huff alot years ago. He actually played hoops at KSU too. That kid can jump though for sure.

Very fortunate that the coaching staff does the recruiting, and not the posters......

Ayo, Ramey, Jones, Griffin and Samba Kane and I'm a very happy guy.

Niven Glover. Oak Ridge High School where he attends is in Orlando. This kid can flat out jump. Luther Head 2.0. Raw talent but played on a team that just won the class 9A championship and was loaded with players including Emmitt Williams who signed with LSU and another kid going to Texas A&M. Also Damon Harge ( You Tube Fame) was the point guard.

Check out Franklin Jacobs. 5'8" and high jumped 7'7 1/4" . Pretty sure he still has the world record for jump above his height. Got screwed like many by Jimmy Carter's misguided attempts to reign in the Soviets in 1980. Pretty sure he played hoops at Farleigh Dickinson as well as high jumping.

That would be top 10 and #1 in BIG.

I doubt Ayton has a 44 inch vertical. What they are measuring is jump reach (vs standing reach), which is standing reach + his vertical. Usually when they discuss vertical jump it is the distance between your feet and the floor after you jump. His wingspan is 7.55 and his height is listed at 7.0, so this adds almost 6 inches to his "vertical". He is likely closer to 38-39 inches which is still darn good.

I agree, it might be Jones or Ramey. We didn't lose many games because our guards weren't as good but we lost many because we couldn't stop the opposing big men. Look at our losses and see how many points Trent put up, it usually was lost by not having big men.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Brad @ ISU tonight to see Liddell. He's a travelin' man.

Maybe I misunderstood, but my thoughts on the question.
I read it to only ask about non-athletic scholarships.

You can absolutely transfer a guy from one sport to another, you just have to follow the hierarchy of sports set out by the NCAA (again, bylaw 15). Happens all the time. If a guy on the track team makes the football team, his scholarship needs to become a full football scholarship instead of a partial track scholarship.

You can easily move a guy from an athletic scholarship to an non-athletic one if he stops playing. That is what the whole "4 year deal" is about - guarantees players a non-athletic scholarship if they get hurt and have to quit the team.

It is a lot trickier to move someone from an athletic scholarship to a non-athletic one and retain eligibility. But it can be technically done. It is rarely a good option for the player.

Won't get both Jones and Ramey.

Xavier is one to watch with Jones.

Are you saying the staff would back off the other if one of them committed first? With the lack of talent on the roster, I'd have to think you'd take both and let the roster sort itself out.

MPHS advances to State and Simeon gets upset by WY. Good for Ayo and Mr. BB if MPHS makes a big run.

Yes, 100% they would take both! And they will pursue each all the way.
