The Journey: Episode 5

Illinois Football: The Journey
This may be the best episode after the Camp Rantoul premiere. As there was no football on the bye weekend, the show was 100% player/coaches features.

Juice Williams (Chicago Vocational) and Chris James (Morgan Park) returned to the city to watch their high school football teams play each other on Friday night. Juice and Chris worked the sidelines, expressed their love of high school football and razzed each other when their team scored.

Back in Champaign, Ron Zook was doing what he does best, "Pack as much into one day as you can." Zook talked teamwork while watching daughter Casey practice with the Illinois Synchronized Skating Team. "Everybody has to be at the top of their game, that's what teamwork is all about." After making the rounds in the football training room and breaking down film with Coach Mallory, the day concluded with Zook waterskiing.

Michael "Uh Oh" Hoomanawanui added to his tattoo collection on the bye weekend. Sister Maggie joined Uh Oh at Altered Egos 2 to add to his tribal tattoo on his massive left arm. The quiet spoken 6-5 275-pound tight end talked his Hawaiian heritage and the importance of his arm tattoos and the spiral face paint he uses on gamedays.
