A look ahead to the 2009-2010 Illini basketball season
March 20, 2009 10:19 AM
Dear College Basketball's Most Loyal Fanbase,
Yesterday's painful loss has forced me to express my feelings about the disappointing finish of the 2008-9 season and our hopes for the 2009-2010 season. I am writing this at work, trying to implement all the roaming thoughts about the basketball season into one post, so please forgive me if the thoughts appear jumbled or if I made some grammatical errors because I didn't proofread. College hoops analysts universally chose our Illini to finish towards the bottom of the conference but under a solid coaching effort from Bruce Weber and staff as well as maturity from our senior leaders and developing sophomores, we fought our way to an unexpected second-place finish. This year will always hold a special place in my heart. That said, let's take a look at what we'll be losing next season, what we'll be gaining next season and what to expect from our returning players.
