We didn't look like a team that enjoyed playing our style of play or had much team chemistry

Part of it is the odd mix of classes with basically no seniors or sophomores to bridge the gap between the frosh and junior classes. Part of it was the odd mix of talent and the gaps in certain skills. For the most part, most of our rotation players' biggest strengths offensively were shooting jumpers, so our spacing on the floor was off and we were pretty easy to defend with bad floor balance. We needed someone operating in the post and for defenses to have to respect our ability to drive the lane.

The result -- our halfcourt offense was hard to watch. We went from running a beautiful motion a few years ago to relying on one player to pound the ball into the court about 30 times before finally being able to break down his man off the dribble and either create his own shot or a shot for a teammate. Far too much this year the only motion in our motion was DMac's crossover being executed a dozen times a possession.
