Tough stuff for Illini in loss to Penn State

Perhaps it came too easy for No. 16 Illinois during a three-game run to start the Big Ten Conference basketball season.

When the shots fell, everything ran smoothly. When they didn't fall against Penn State, the Illini couldn't find the answers in a 57-55 loss Tuesday night.

Penn State senior Andrew Jones grabbed a missed shot by guard Talor Battle and stuffed home the game winner with 1 second left. On a snowy night in Happy Valley, the Illini couldn't extend their recent run of hot shooting, and Penn State defeated them for the fifth time in the last eight meetings.
