The funny thing about this whole situation is, even though the benches were previously warned, it's still the umpires discretion whether or not to toss the pitcher, in this case rondon. If maddon hadn't popped off yesterday about finishing things he may still have his closer in this game.

Too many rules regarding HBP's. Sometimes it better for the players to police themselves instead of letting an umpire decide where the intent is.

Explain how I'm jaded because I think intentionally throwing at players is pretty dumb? And I'm cocky because I said a two-time Manager of the Year is better than Matheny?

Jaded by the cardinals success. That's why.

Wait, so you condone for the Cubs for throwing at Wong and Garcia hit? Or was that unintentional?

Of course it was unintentional!! The Cubs would never do anything like that.

Love the early hard slides at second.

If Martinez hits a batter, he'll be ejected.

Cheaters trying to slow the baserunners down against lester by having the infield a little extra wet... lol

Remember when they let the grass grow extra high back when Whiteyball was going strong! Skip Carey with the best comment, "if I let my grass grow this high, my neighbors would complain!"

How wasn't this strike 3??? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1442777264.729365.jpg

He struck both fowler and Coughlan out. It's tough to pitch when you have to throw 4 strikes. Carlos may have brought it on himself at the plate when he got punched out on a pitch outside, but IMO that bs for an ump to put the squeeze on a guy whether you think he showed you up or not. A strikes a strike and if you don't call the same zone both ways because you feel slighted I'd have to question your integrity as an umpire.

Haha, I just noticed that rizzo has bad blood playing as his walk up song. Well played

What other batter holds his hands over the plate? You know if Yadi did such a thing, your team would be !!!!!ing more than anyone.

Damn well choices? English isn't your strong suit I see.

Edit: Rizzo is the one who made such qualms about winning the division. So he has a target on his back.

Congrats on a young team that'll flail come postseason.

English apparently isn't your strong suit either. Qualms? Flail? (borderline) You might want to get out the old dictionary. All in good fun! :thumb:

Let's take care of business this week and start getting to rotation set.

Molina HAS to be healthy if we any chance at a championship run. Right now they're just calling it a sprain, but he will be re-evaluated tomorrow. With the way this season has gone, I'm expecting bad news tomorrow.

From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch re Molina injury:

After the game, his left thumb wrapped in bright red tape, Molina said he would have an MRI on the joint Monday.
"It hurt," Molina said. "It hurts right now standing here. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to know what it is."
He did not try to grip a bat.

Just our luck...

Now all we need is for Peralta to get hurt and we'll have our entire opening day lineup to have missed time this season...

How do you catch a 100mph fastball with a broken thumb? Hopefully just a sprain.
