I flipped the game off, but switched over to see the score, only to see a shot of the Michigan State bench laughing. Time for Netflix.
A top 5 team missing the best player in the country. The same players that eeked out a victory against Oakland. And now they're handing it to us by 30.
There's always a part of me that's gratified when a traditionally backseat player makes some noise. Tonight is no exception. I'm just disappointed that Lewis's bright spot is so powerfully overshadowed by everything else negative that's going on.

Goodness....We are down 30??? I am not watching the game (glad I am not) but wanted to check in and we are down by 30 to a team minus a guy who might be a Wooden award winner or at least a finalist? What would the score be if Valentine was playing? Thank goodness I wasn't able to see the game and will be deleting it from my DVR without viewing. The program isn't in good shape right now. People say we are missing all these starters and it does hurt but who knows what TA brings to this team except toughness and D. LB fouls so much would he even play that many minutes? MT was a 5th year senior stop gap. He was playing well but in the long term how much good does he do to the program? Nunn missing for his kid being born really stinks because he has been tearing it up but he is doing the right thing being there with his son and would he really make a 30 point difference?
I think that it's important to note that the game against Oakland was their first without Valentine. They've had 2 or 3 games since to adapt. Tonight's MSU is significantly better and more cohesive than against Oakland

When you consider there's not a player on Oakland who wouldn't be at Illinois if we offered them a scholarship, they were in a much tougher position.
Great to see DJ bring it up, make a move and score. Get some experience kid.

Poorly coached... That is why we look bad tonight. I get tired of people ripping Groce this year. He has had players missing since the freshmen arrived over the summer. We have had a guy miss two games for the mumps and now one missing due to the birth of a child and you are criticizing our coach for not getting freshmen and walk on players to look good against previously ranked #1 Michigan state, give me a break! They had no chance tonight. Support the guys that are out there trying and playing more prominent roles than they should in a game like this. Thank goodness we have a coach that looks for the positive. I really hope our young guys embrace this big10 season as we take our licks and come back next season looking to punish teams. We have talent coming in next year in our pg and a lot of talented guys on THIS roster who when healthy will win a lot of games. I think next year you will not want to play the fighting Illini!
