Any truth to the rumor that Normal West HS has a top 10 player in 2019? if so, is the coaching staff in on him? I am hearing that he is a big that can handle the ball like a guard. Would think Parham would have an in with this staff from his days at ISU.

Not sold on Parham having the ins with anyone.

Not sure if this is a shot at parham but that guy has been earning his recruiting stripes lately.

How's Picketts junior year going thus far? Anyone know what their record is?

Pickett was having a great year before he got injured nearly averaging a double double with about 24 and 9. Not sure how he's been since he came back.

Obviously great news on Da'Monte. He was the real must-get prospect for us in 2017 IMO. Now it's about convincing the other "down-state" kids to jump on the bandwagon.

I've been able to see Xavier Castaneda play a couple times this season. He's an intriguing prospect. Even though he's a Sophomore, he's really become a leader on that WY team. He's a quick ballhandler that likes to pull up from mid-range or create for others. For his age, his feel for the PG position is impressive.

That being said, there's still a long way to go for Castaneda and the teams recruiting him. He might be top 5 in his class, but 2018 is shaping up to be another down recruiting year in the state.

I'm not sure about Normal West, but Chris Payton of Bloomington is the real deal (Class of 2019). He's 6'6 so he would need to grow a few inches to be a High D-1 4, but he is good.

What are you referring to? What did he say??

LuckyLefty or somethinget like that is his name. Every time he's dropped in he's been right and this past week he said he was hearing that there was a domino effect coming for Illinois and all that was slowing it was Groce's fate. Or something of that nature at least.

That guy's been right on the money.

The player at Normal West is not Bates-Diop or Peyton. The rumor I heard was that he moved into town this fall. I am guessing there is no validity to this since many of the posters here are very connected to that scene.

Minus the part where he said it starts with Tilmon and may include 2 others. Seems it either started with DaMonte or else there is a different set of dominoes poised to fall and it only includes Tilmon and one other person (since we know Groce plans to try for the medical waiver for both Abrams and Thorne).

What effect do Abrams and Thorne have on the 2017 class? As it stands, we'll have only seven players on scholarship for 2017, and that includes Leron Black.

We talked about this kid in an earlier recruiting thread. Looks like he may be heading to Normal West!

Heard rumors of a "big kid" transferring to Normal West. 2019 6-10 Francis Chibuike-Okoro attended last night's win. Massive! #REDBIRDhoops
