Georgia was a 14 when they made a similar run some years back.
Though maybe beating 4 consecutive top 20 teams would vault us to a 13.
Generally speaking, I think you play if you have the opportunity to play. However, the State Farm renovations change that equation for me a bit. I'd not be interested in signing the players up for potentially a bunch more road games if the SFC was unavailable to use.

That the number of games we will have played in makes Thorne appearance in the IU game in the first half, thus enhancing his chances at a medical redshirt.
It's an open-and-shut case if the IU game is considered the "first half". We are praying for a waiver otherwise.
That doesn't change anything. The injury occurred in the game vs ISU, which was already in the first half or the season, not even close. Whether the IU game was in the first or second half of the season is irrelevant.
I didn't read it as a joke, but I was under the assumption that first half/ second half was the semester break. I know it is not half of a season, but I thought that was the factor. Did he play during the 2nd semester of school?
I thought there was some discussion of him receiving a medical redshirt due to not playing in a certain percentage of games, but there is a stipulation stating that if you play in the 2nd half, you are not eligible for medical redshirt.
He's fine based on % of games. The part he doesn't qualify for is the "season ending injury" part. Since he played again vs IU, the injury didn't end his season.
And another reason this is all moot is I believe the "season" is defined by regular season games.

That is pretty crappy, because it did kind of technically end his season. Can't believe we put him back in for like 10 minutes in the 2nd half of a beatdown. ugh.
Yeah, if they were going for a waiver, it would have been pretty clear cut had he not played. Although there is still a question in my mind since he's a 5th year grad student transfer. I doubt that anyone in that situation has ever petitioned for a 6th year, so I'm not sure what the NCAA would have done?

Ehhh, I don't know. In my mind, I was thinking it was only 2nd half; maybe I was just trying to make it seem worse in my own brain.
He played 16 minutes total, spread across both halves. I think he did leave the game early with no plans to return.
