Other pending results,

UCLA 11 strokes out of qualifying position in the Kohler regional. This would leave ILL, USC and Tex as the only teams to qualify for the championship every year since going to the 6-regional format

Purdue on track to qualify from the Stillwater regiona

USC currently four shots clear of qualifying with the back nine to play after
playing near the cut line the last couple days

That must be a brutal course in the Albuquerque regional. The top-5 cutoff is at +40 and only 1 player is under par for the regional.

Idaho suddenly looks out of it, barring a meltdown by one of Florida State or Baylor.
Too bad, would have been a fun story.

Baylor is absolutely demolishing the back nine. Combined, they have 9 birdies in the last 20 holes (last 4 holes X 5 players), and only one bogey by the golfer whose score is being dropped.

Add another birdie to that back nine. Baylor's gone from +1 to -6 for the tournament in the last 4 holes.

I don't believe there's TV coverage, just the live stats.

Edit: Live stats updated that eagle to a birdie, which makes more sense for a par four.

Looks like Idaho fell back to earth after a heck of a first 2 1/2 days. Of course Baylor didn't help. Looks like the Illini are finishing strong and could still win this thing!

Would be absolutely great to close out with a win and build momentum going into the finals. Florida's providing the opportunity.

Tough for Idaho especially since score-wise today will probably be their low round as a team. They just ran into a buzzsaw in Baylor.

Florida cards a double-bogey and the Golfing Illini are 1 stroke in the lead!

Interesting note:

Since they went to the six-regional format in 2009, only one team who won their regional has gone on to win the National Championship -- Alabama in 2013.

Really coming down to the wire
Illinois and Florida tied at -11 with two players to go.
Each team has their two best overall scorers on the course.
Our two guys total -8.
their two guys total -8
Could go either way.

Oops, looks like they just updated the site and now we have surged into a lead at -11 vs -8.
Victory, Illinois varsity?

Went through all the regionals quickly and I see that of the top 25, only 3 teams did not advance; #20 Duke, #23 Washington and #25 North Carolina. Those rankings are VERY good !

The four straight regional wins is super impressive, since that basically means you are one of the top-6 teams in the nation.

And with UCLA not making the cut this year, that leaves Illinois with the 3rd-longest streak in the nation, I believe.

Congrats to the Illini on another impressive showing and making the NCAA Championships yet again!

Also, did anyone see that Texas A&M and San Diego St had a playoff hole to determine who would make it to the NCAAs from that regional? They played a Par 5 hole, and two players from San Diego St made a double eagle and an eagle respectively. How unbelievable is that?! Would have loved to see how that one played out!

FL has to pretty po'd as they led the whole way until the end, when we grabbed it from them. Small's team must have been hitting them stiff all day.
