Don't know anything about the global sports academy. Someone care to explain what this is/ what kind of competition Aaron will play with/against? Also, how does someone get selected into the program?

Global Sports Academy is a non-profit organization and I think one gets to go by paying.

So according to this they're playing 5 games, with the first 4 being on 4 consecutive days. 10 players on the roster, with AJ being one of 2 sophomores. Also 2 jr, 6 sr, no frosh. It lists the teams they'll be playing, I'd be interested to know how good they are. Their roster isn't anything special (at least it looks like to me), with AJ only 1 of 3 that plays for a high major D1 school.

The way I see it, Aaron Jordan can say that he's the only Illini player on the roster to go to Europe two years in a row.

Speaking of Jordan, his latest Instagram video...my God...he can fly like a ninja. I want to see more of that this upcoming season.

AJ can get up now. We might see him become a legitimate threat with the ball this year. He is gonna put someone on a poster.

Wow. He makes all those dunks look EASY

Well just wait until next year when he's put another 100# on his squat! :D

He got an extra 7" on his vertical by taking his squat from 275# to 374#.
That's about +1"/15#. More complicated than that, but OMG.

Improvement isn't that linear but I'm sure he could still maybe hit 450 at least by the time he graduates and could add another 2-3" to his vert. It would still be extremely impressive!

My total vertical isn't 7 inches (class of '63)

Life isn't linear? ;)
I'd say shoot for +5" next year and be happy with +2".

Hehe. A number of years ago I started jump training and got +4" in a week!
Took it all the way up to 14".

The open scholarship will go to a walk-on, correct?

Are there any rules where you can split it by semester? If you give it to a walk on & a mid year transfer turns up are you out of luck?

I know you can for second semester only in basketball, not sure if you can give for only first semester.

UF had the issue for 2014 - 2015 when they lost some players. They had a walk on who played major minutes (and they knew he was going to from the beginning of the year) but didn't give him a scholarship til second semester to keep flexibility. I assume that was to make sure they had one available for a potential mid year transfer.

I tried to look it up but couldn't find it quickly.

So according to the schedule on Global Sports Academy's website, it looks like tonight should(?) be the first game. Or at least tonight wherever they're at, not sure what time it would be here in the US
