Well it appears that Justin Smith has left Bloomington w/o committing.:)

I think we need to really focus on Kiir, and/or Epperson. FWIW..Can't help but like we have 67% CB for Kiir on 247. I know the drill. Don't let CB's gas you up!

Does he have a visit coming soon?

It depends on what you mean by "soon." He told me on Twitter those three words, "I'm visiting soon," but that was about 4 weeks ago now. Moreover, there is an article out there where he talks about being a spring signee.

That's an impressive get for Iowa, and it's bigger than what people think. More importantly, he's in Indiana's backyard. Castle is in Newburgh, which is not far from Evansville...just to the east. The area is a hotbed of basketball talent.

Nunge's style of play reminds me of Michael Finke's. A 6-10 big man who has inside and outside range. Needs to pack on muscle, but he will help spread the floor for Fran's offense. I'm curious if he'll redshirt like Finke just to strengthen, nonetheless, he's a great player.

Always good to see a player from the Tri-State area get recruited by a Big Ten school.

Sounds like a guy I'll be hating immediately upon his first minute played vs Illinois.

Or perhaps his safety school, Stanford.:) Nice one to have.

I thought that Stanford got a commitment from someone who plays his position, which is why I was predicting that Smith would wind up at Wisconsin.

Really good memory, Brosox. Yes Stanford got a commitment from Kezie Okpala and also has 3 other underclassmen SF's on roster. But what the heck, JSmith would make the 5th--is that too many? :) I was just going by 100% CB to Stanford. You are probably right by process of elimination it will be Wisc. . JSmith is supposed to take an OV to Nova this weekend, but boy it looks like they have gone in another direction and they got a commitment from Samuels.

I can't believe the lack of "buzz" both during and following the Wilkes visit. Should I assume that's a bad thing for our chances?

Kiir still needs to take the ACT/SAT before he can take an official visit. Look for that to happen within the next month or so. Then I think this recruitment will become much more dynamic. I don't see him waiting until spring.

Expecting Wilkes to commit to us on the first visit, especially when we are not considered the leader, is a bit unrealistic. We are not out of it but we remain a long shot at best.

The focus for the staff, other that Wilkes, has to be to get another big out of this class. I would think Kiir is the best chance with maybe Epperson as another alternative. It has been quiet in both recruitments.

Never mentioned expecting a commitment. Just found it odd that there has been little to no information about his recruitment beyond those speculating that we're a longshot.

Not a whole lot to infer really. Seems like the staff definitely went all out & I'm sure Wilkes enjoyed the visit. Not much else to discuss on that really. Can only hope he takes all his visits & if he doesn't choose us, gotta pray he goes out of conference so he doesn't wreak havoc on us.

I don't think anybody expected there to be a lot of smoke from Wilkes one way or the other during the visit. The way he has his recruitment schedule set up, it's going to a be a slow burn. I don't know what his specific timeline is, but I wouldn't be surprised if he waited until signing day, being such a highly-ranked prospect and all.

Goodwin and Frazier were unusually noisy recruitments, so we're still a bit dazzled by that.

Piper just posted an article on Scout, very positive quotes from Wilkes and his dad. Once again, seems like the staff has done all they can here, but will be tough to beat out the favorites.
