Man I think Illinois just cruises in this one. I'm taking us giving the points.

I think I take us as well. But I wouldn’t use the word “cruise.” Yes, Purdue is horrible and we made incredible strides last week…way more than I expected. But we were off of a bye week, playing a ranked opponent in their house. We had a lot to get psyched up for; this week, not so much. Maybe playing to get our opponent’s coach fired?

You just don't know. Last year we clobbered them in their house. We should do it again.

Reggie Corbin listed as starter? KV must of responded poorly at practice to Lovie saying he wants better play out of him. Or he is trying to motivate him...

Or, Reggie Corbin obviously has shown a lot in practice and was tremendous against Nebraska and deserves it.

Toss the Rivals stars out the window once the players arrive, the best guys need to play. Vaughn is a good player and will get carries, but the other two have outplayed him so far this year.

Purdue's run defense is poor, we ought to get production out of all three of our backs on Saturday.

Three big statistical positives so far this season for me are that

1.) Our RBs are averaging over 5 yards/carry as a group
2.) McLaughlin is 5/5 on FGs and 2/2 on FGs between 40-49 yds.
3.) Lunt has thrown 1 INT through 4 games

If the defense can maintain the level it came with for most of the Nebraska game, we really may be able to stay close in a lot of tough games.

Need to go 2-1 in this second quarter of the season to get back to .500. Then find at least 3 more wins in the last half of the season. Don't know if anybody checked out NW at Iowa last week, but all of a sudden NW looks unbeatable.

That, or Iowa is trash.

If we take care of business the next two weeks, we can sit here and talk about how Iowa, NW, MSU, and Minnesota all appear to be nothing to write home about. But if we're not good enough to put Purdue and Rutgers to bed, that will be a meaningless discussion.

Good summary

That's a bit of an oddity as we've broken off a number of big gainers but still haven't really established a consistent running game. Nearly 1/2 of our rushing yardage in the 3 losses came on just 4 plays.

Some decent results from Corbin vs UNL, but that may have been a bit to do with the surprise factor of facing him instead of Vaughn for their D.

I would like to see a game where Foster got 20 carries and see what happens. I think he's been really good.

I agree Aaron, love to see him cut some long runs!

Illini will be looking to keep "The Cannon" in Champaign when @BoilerFootball comes to Memorial Stadium Saturday

The battle for The Cannon between #Illini and @BoilerFootball dates back to 1943.

Om my goodness, S&C, totally agree here. This football team better be believing in themselves, even over and above believing in Lovie, or a bowl game invite is toast at this point in the season.

I actually like the OBO combo, but maybe that's just me.
