#Illini coaches John Groce & Jamall Walker were in Indy today to visit Kris Wilkes (@kadw31) - his father tells me. The push continues...

That was a visit at his high school. Pretty sure there has not been an in-home yet.

Wilkes could be a legend here. That's the kind of talent he brings alongside the accumulation of other talent we've been fortunate to get. You have a lineup with Tilmon, JCL, and Wilkes on the court and you will have the talent to beat any team in the country.

Out west he's another really tall basketball player and at Indiana he's dancing on strings like a Marionette, guided by the small hands of ole' Creanpuff. (which is ironic because every time I picture Tom Cream, I see him as a Marionette doll smiling creepily and dancing around like a spineless bobblehead)

Bottom line, the young man is a program-changer. And it extends out further than just what he brings on the court. Mr. Wilkes is the real thing.

Groce/Walker also visited on 9/14, but I think that was to NCHS open gym, too. Maybe in homes "soon"?

Don't know. I am certain that as of yesterday they haven't had an in home with him. He was at IU again last weekend, but the chatter on that is he was joining a friend who was on an IU football visit. I would say IU is the favorite but you have to wonder why he hasn't pulled the trigger yet. Crean better hope he lands Wilkes. IU faithful won't be too pleased if they miss out on ALL the top Indiana talent. These are kids that IU spend a lot of time and money recruiting from a very young age. I'm sure we can relate to that lol.

IUs assistant athletic director just followed Wilkes on Twitter. For IU fans this has been a fairly accurate predictor. So far only getting Bruce Brown wrong.

Came here to post this.

Should make IU fans breathe a sigh of relief.

From what I can tell Wilkes's most recent follower is Kedric Prince

God help us all if Kedric is the barometer of Illini commitments :D

Ked is in a tough spot. Growing up in the QC, Illinois and Iowa were fairly well split. Since about 2006 Iowa has taken over on both sides of the river as far as fans, media, coverage, right on down to apparel at stores.

Ked writes a lot of numbingly positive articles on Illinois for the Dispatch. Looking at that from a macro perspective could be out of touch, but honestly when I go home and read that it's refreshing to see at least someone daring to make the Illini a normal conversation on what has become and Iowa island.

BC, did Marni follow Waters?
Meyer just flipped to GT and it's now 65% GT to 29% Indiana

Kedric has been a long time poster as well, more than 20 years on Illini boards, all the way back to the BTFF posting as IlliniK.

I kind of remember the Big Ten Fan Forum, it was very convenient for fans. I believe you just hit the team ICON and it took you to all the forums of that university.

Not sure why it went away, good call.

One of the biggest advantages of the BTFF was the ability to switch between school forums, so there was a lot of chatter between B1G fans.

There were a few posts that crossed the line, and B1G was not going to assume the legal liability of monitoring the boards. There was one post in particular (will not repeat it) that was deleted pretty quickly but I remember thinking "I wonder for how long the B1G will take the risk of keeping these forums up..." A few days later, they were gone.

I'm a super insider. Here's what's really happening: Kiir to VCU, Wilkes to Indiana. Epperson will blow up at LaLu and get recruited by top programs before signing (not with Illinois) in the spring. Illinois will sign a 5th year transfer and a late riser who decommits from another school in the spring. Tugs Bowen will commit to MSU.

I come from the future - my source is Illinois Loyalty one year from today.

UCLA saw five-star wing Brian Bowen this morning and will meet with five-star forward Kris Wilkes this afternoon, per source.

Alford trying to put the squeeze on Wilkes?

Well apparently IU's assistant AD just followed Wilkes on twitter and apparently she only follows commits or those about to commit. It's a bummer as this is likely a sign of Wilkes' choice

The number one rule of time travel is don't talk about time travel!

So, after Wilkes and Kiir, aside from Epperson, who doesn't seem like a high interest, is all we have left hanging out there Kenneth Wooten?

There's always a fifth year guy or high school late bloomer who pops up in the second semester.

Very true. This is reminding me alot of the robert Johnson recruitment though.

We have Alex Bozich and Marni indicating IU. While all the press goes to another big name program.
