Was Tomlin that good? Didn't get to watch the game but was following on my phone so I wasn't sure what was happening.

Well, we are down 2-1 just like against the Dodgers. And just like against the Dodgers our losses were a 6-0 on the road and a 1-0 at home.

Let's see if we can't win game 4 and then rattle off 2 more wins to repeat the NLCS!

Let's see some offense!

Tomlin had the Cubs batters chasing at pitches. Their approaches at the plate were too aggressive. He has a great line since September 1: 42 IP, 30 H, 9 R, 8 ER, 4 BB, 21 K, 1 HR, 1.71 ERA.

Fortunately today is a new day. Get the sticks going early the second time around against Kluber.

If we can knock Kluber out early and put a dent in their bullpen it will really help with game 5.

Tonight is critical.

9. Lackey, P

It sucks because Javy did so well in the NLCS but he really is coming up empty when he is up with RISP or even on base.

He's still my favorite Cub right now though.

Everyone but Zobrist seemed to be pressing last night, trying to do all the damage with one swing. That wind starts howling straight out to center, it's hard not to salivate at the thought of getting the ball in the air. However, when that happens, you chase pitches you normally wouldn't go after (which resulted in a goose egg).

Baez is top 3 for me on the current team. I think Rizzo is still my #1, just because back when I played ball I played 1B.

This team has shown time and time again that one loss is not going to affect them the next day. Give 'em hell, Lackey. After all, he didn't come here for a haircut.

Just give us our normal offense in 3 of the next 4 and I think we will win it!

Much better approaches at the plate tonight, but the results haven't come through just yet. Time to fire up those bats.

I don't think we are going to win the World Series you guys... =(

Obviously down 3-1 is not the hole you wanted to be in, but if you told me in spring training that they would need to win 3 straight with Lester, Arrieta, and Hendricks potentially on the hill to win it all, I would be ability thrilled with those chances.

Not a Cubs fan so I'm unfamiliar with this guy, but Baez does not appear to be a good clutch batter.

I was thinking the same thing when I woke up this morning. If we can get Thise three guys to have their best games AND wake up our freaking bats, we have a chance.

If you're gonna break a 108-year drought, might as well make it an epic comeback too, right?

The good thing is that if they don't come back, their current team has a 5-7 year window so they have some time. Assuming they lose, I hope the guys who pressed learn from this experience and apply it going forward.

Back to Cleveland.

Well, you gotta win game 5 to win game 7! :D

I'm just glad we have sent it to game 6. Our guys have seen both of the next two pitchers before, the pitchers will be on short rest, and we have the former Cy Young winner and potential next Cy Young winner pitching.

If there was ever a situation where a team was down 3-1 and came back to win it all, it would look like this one.

Bad thing is the only guy they beat was Bauer and he's done pitching in the series.

Tomlin on short rest will likely not be as sharp as he was on 13 days rest.

and Kluber is beatable. The Jays hit him pretty good the second time they saw him. This is our third time. The advantage begins to shift to hitter, the more times they see a guy over a series .

Do I wish we were up 3-2 ? of course I do, but its not over. If you would have told me on July 1st that we would be in this position , I would have taken it . Its pretty rare any team gets to a WS, let alone to the 6th game.

Obviously getting to Kluber is the first objective, but if it gets to that point it is also the 3rd go-round against him, and the 2nd on short-rest. The Cubs have put themselves in as best a chance to pull off the comeback.

What I love most is how much fun they're still having, even in the face of adversity. Last night Chapman came in after striking out Lindor and was yelling "4, 4, 4!" because he got to bat 4th that inning. Then Maddon recommended they have costumes for their flight tonight.

"It ain't over 'til it's over."
