Ok im caught up guys! Had a few remarks to make there as i read thru 10+ pages... anyways

No surprises tomorrow. JT feels terrible for putting JFG & co. (That includes us) through the ringer. He is a great kid and was just trying to look out for himself, and how could he not, with this being the biggest decision of his life.

But the real stinger was all the gold diggers in his ear. But Tilmon knows whats up. Just had to get the ship steared back in the right direction.

For these high profile recruits just always remember there is a TON of pressure on these kids regarding their college decisions, especially in the midnight hour.

Let's not forget Groce moved his presser back to 2:40.

Would he have moved his presser back if he didn't get the NLI? That right there just seems to be the dead give away. If I'm Groce and I know Tilmon isn't coming here I'm not having a press conference AFTER he decides to go elsewhere. Someone in the media(I'm looking at you Rob) will throw out some sort of question regarding it.

It's been discussed that it was moved back due to the women's basketball game.

This is the first I remember hearing of this. If true, one of the more amazing coincidence of events could be on our hands...

It was posted multiple times on twitter and someone from the university confirmed it. Doubt it's a coincidence but it was reported and confirmed as such.

Could be. But if they don't have a LOI why even have a presser?

They could have the presser so Groce can talk about the other kids in the recruiting class. That being said, with moving the presser they are never going to come out and say it is because of the timing of JT's announcement, so there is going to be an "official" reason for the time change.

He already had a press conference to discuss the other three recruits.

Is it possible that the press conference was set (and moved back) so Groce could do damage control?

It's not like they didn't know the time of the WBB game when they originally scheduled the presser

Goodwin seems like he has a real axe he suddenly started grinding against Illinois for some reason. What's his deal?

It's not often talked about but I was at the ncaa tourney game in Columbus in 06 when we lost to va tech. Man that was a brutal loss. Double digit lead most the game and we pull such a typical Illinois and slow the game down on offense way to early and don't score for like seven minutes. Then we needed randle or mcbride or warren carter to step up down the stretch and act like seniors and they just couldn't do it. We win that game we get southern Illinois in the round of 32 and a very winnable game. Just a terrible loss to witness firsthand.

That's great, except that game wasn't in 06... the 2006 NCAA Tournament saw Illinois lose to Washington with some very suspect officiating...

It was 2007 they lost to Va Tech, and I remember Randle flexing his muscles and then we fell apart

Could be if Tilmon IS coming to play for Illinois in the Big Ten, playing against Michigan State, Indiana etc... could it be a little regret going on? I mean SLU's conference...?

If he truly signed a NLI yesterday, than I am truly amazed that more has not leaked. It is amazingly quiet if he has already told the coaching staffs. You usually have all kinds of leaks on a verbal but nothing on an actually signed document. Weird.

Also, don't underestimate the fact that he may have had some less than positive social media messages from Illini fans. It does happen. :tsk:
