In that case then you view Illinois' next game against Michigan as a "must win"?
Doesn't everybody?

...and before this loss to UNC, Lunardi had N.C. State as the 5th team out of the tourney.
At this point, the Illini only have one win against a Lunardi projected tourney team and that is VCU and VCU was his last team in. So Illinois' record against projected tourney teams is now 1-4. Where are the other "good wins" going to come from?
Big W for the Fightin' Cuonzo's last night at USC.
I only watched the first half, but their style is instantly recognizable as Keady/Weber/Painter ball. For better or worse.
So Minnesota looks really really good. Long, athletic, shot blockers...can't see us beating them this year.
Tough to say right now. It could be Indiana if they can get some consistency. Maryland has been improving and showed us just how much better they are than us. Then again, MSU is going to MSu and get progressively better as the season goes along, so they might be Top 3 by the end of the season, because Izzo.I personally think Minnesota is the 3rd best team in the Big ten, behind Wisconsin and Purdue.
Not sure I put as much faith in Lunardi as you do, but the bracket matrix shows both NC St and VCU as tournament teams. And "projected tournament teams" is not the criteria for a "good win" anyway.
No doubt that Illinois needs to get more of them and they have plenty of chances left this season. 8 games left against current RPI top 50 teams.
I can hardly believe what they've done. They're the most improved team in the nation by a country mile, and it's with mostly the same guys. I guess that still leaves me a little dubious, but they have legit wins, seeing is believing

Still not seeing NC St. in the brackets. Where are they seeded? UNC, UNC Wilmington, South Carolina, North Dakota St. are all projected in.

Sorry, I guess I assumed you knew what the bracket matrix was and how to find it:
NC St is a consensus 10 seed.
Take the orange pill
Reggie Lynch and Eric Curry are adding 12 rebounds and 4 blocks per game that they didn't have last year. I don't think you can understate how those guys are helping this year, when you consider that is in addition to what Murphy provides. Those stats turn into point differential and the impact of defense cannot be overstated either.
So essentially he's a better recruiting, less whiny, less bus-throwy version of Weber? If he can coach like Weber but without all the other flaws, sign me up! :thumb:
Caveat: I'd still take a Marshall or Jacobson over him, though, in a heartbeat.
I miss the Weber defense. I don't miss the Weber offense. I do miss the Weber comments about Indiana sucking.
That Weber offense is doing pretty damn well at KSU this year.
