It's a good thing to have these kids in during "spring" ball, so they can see more than just the Quad. Seriously, I know they do more than just walk around campus, checking out facilities and talking with coaches and such. It it's always better to show rather than just tell. The roar of the geasepaint, the smell of the crowd.

I don't know. Is this how it's usually done, or was this planned? If the latter, well played Mr. Lovie. Well played.

I'm thinking Griffith stiffed us for for ND. Robert/Roughy said he hasn't seen him yet.

I see Minnesota got a commit from an Ohio QB. Winder how long it will take before we start getting anxious for a commit. i will give it until summer camps. Then I will start to get anxious.

It sounds like they are really putting the full court press on Coran Taylor. It appears that they would really like him to be the first commit for the class from the outside looking in. I think he eventually will end up committing with Kendrick Green being here. We are also by far his best offer. However, it seems like he is in no hurry to commit and really wants to enjoy the recruiting process. That being said I'd love for him to on board ASAP.

There are guys who probably would commit if we offered them but we have to be careful about who we offer given the limited size of this class.

What about O'Rouke and Putnam that an earlier poster reported as potential attendees?

Some schools host "junior days" (e.g. major planned dog and pony show designed to get juniors to commit and or impress top underclassmen) during spring ball others do it separately.

If I'm a recruit I want to watch/listen to how my potential future position coach interacts with players. So I want to attend practices and a position meeting if I could. Nirvana would be getting some one on one time breaking down film. If I'm a big time recruit I'd specifically ask for it.

Not to be too vague, but any word on anything? I guess recruiting news has become premium/insider. Seems weird to have so many visitors and so little news/leaks.

Kind of the slow part of the year in terms of recruiting.

Didn't know where to put this since it is not illini related but a little birdie told me over the weekend that the NCAA is getting ready to drop the hammer on Alabama

That would be the day. If they didn't do North Carolina in basketball I would be shocked if they mess with their cash cow in football
