Coach searches and the ensuing staff and roster shuffling are the cocaine of college fandom. The struggle is real.

Feel ya. I have the same concerns and "stresses" that any UI fan would have after the decade we've been through ... I just wish we could shift our fan base to somewhere in between our "I've seen this movie before" pessimism and Missouri's pathetic "We shall now get any recruit Cuonzo desires" delusion; I think that'd be a happy medium. :thumb:

All you need to know about the upcoming (first session next weekend) EYBL season. Includes rosters for Mac Irvin Fire (The Star: Ayo Dosunmu The Sleeper: Talen Horton-Tucker) and Meanstreets (The Star: Tim Finke The Sleeper: The Guards -- the've got a lot). Also interesting that State Champs Whitney Young's Javon Freeman has added Liberty to his last name (he's Marcus Liberty's nephew). Lots of good stuff.

Watched highlights of Bragg, Ernst, and the Pitt player. I would take all 3. Concerns about Bragg off the court, but he is a good big for the college game and BU system. Ernst looks pretty athletic and does look like 6-10. The Pitt player would be great for 2 years.

Add another player like M Smith. Good sign that he hasn't announced to MSU yet. If you want to go to MSU and you know schollys are limited why shop around as they continue to look at PG/SG/Combo guards? Kentucky already has two MCAA coming in at guards, has a third (Brisco) as a upperclassman and just landed a top 75 SG. They are still looking at more guards as well.

Would of liked for Carroll to follow BU to Illinois, kid is a player. Combine him with the Pitt player and we are a much better team.

The problem we currently have is that everything we are talking about is who we need to get to be competitive. Right now we need to look at the roster we have and BU is going to have to find a way to make them competitive next year in the BIG 10. Unless Frazier can help next year I am not sure we are going to get anyone that is going to have a meaningful impact for the upcoming season

I like how you bundled all of your punctuation in the middle of the paragraph.

All im saying is we have StLouis Post releasing a huge article about Illini Fans bashing Tilmon that didnt make us look good. JW had the ball in his court and turned it over. We had a bunch of $$$ for a new coach and we failed to land that elite recruiter thats what u need in college basketball...

If the St. Louis Post is focusing resources on an article focused on the comment threads on high school recruits' social media accounts, it's a sad day for the St. Louis Press.

Orlando Antigua is not an elite recruiter??

And I could give a rats a$$ what the UofM J school trolls write in the St Louis papers. They're playing to their audience.

On Saturday night, Smith will play in the Derby Festival Classic in Freedom Hall.

Next week, he’ll return to the state for a recruiting visit to UK, which is still looking to add another backcourt player after losing every one of its scholarship guards from this past season’s team.

Smith made it clear Thursday that he’s still very much interested in Kentucky, even though the Cats landed a commitment from another four-star guard — California sharpshooter Jemarl Baker — earlier this week.

I'm blanking. Who was our last international recruit?

I can't think of one that did not play HS Ball here first. Such and Olaf Blab, Jens Kujawa, and Damir Krupalija.

Given the Jemari Baker commit, is the Kentucky offer still there for Smith?

Coach Ant is a great recruiter if hes able to pull out all the stops for recruits and everybody knows what i mean when i say that..He knows what has to be done to land the big fish but is illinois going to allow him to do it and risk getting caught and face a scandal coach ant was taught by the best in the business in calipari
